As you may know, there's going to be an MTA fare hike on May 31st. 30 day unlimited metrocards which are now priced at $81 will be raised to $103.
My question is if anyone knows the details of how they will account for partially used metrocards. I heard that the last fare hike, there was a 2 or 3 month grace period...
What if you buy 2 unlimited monthly metrocards, and start one on May 30 (before the fare hike). What will happen to the second metrocard? Will you still be able to *start* using it on, say July 1st, even though you bought it for the original $81 price a month ago? Or do they only accept refunds and make you buy a new one priced at $103?
