Hi there,

I'm 21 female...new to this site!! Any thought I would see if anyone can relate to what i'm experiencing-

5 months ago i started having joint pain- all joints, even walking up one step would ache my knees. gradually since then my muscles have gradually gotten weak- if i lift my hanRAB over my head they feel so weak, so its hard to even dry my hair etc. The tendons (i think) in my arm and back of my legs feel strained too. Sometimes i feel internally shakey all over the body, more so when i think about it! The weakness seems to be gradual but gotten a lot worse in the aftermath of a bout of gastroenteritis which i was in hospital for. they did blood tests and the only thing flagged up was low thyroid levels- they repeated the blood test 2 months later and found the levels had returned to normal and it was left at that. I've also felt mild nausea for about 8-9 months- not that im ever sick, its mainly when i wake up, and varies throughout the day, sometime i forget about it so it cant be that bad!

The key part perhaps... i am a HIGHLY anxious person and i recently restarted university after time out- i had left due to a personal problem with people at uni and have been worked up about returning. I worry all the time about various things, and am convinced ive got Multiple sclerosis or something really bad! its the first thing i think about when i wake up :(

can anyone help??? MS or stress???

thanks,

Clare

Can anyone advise???

Well Clare...

I have Multiple Sclerosis. And Anxiety. And OCD about my health as well. I can definately relate. One *red flag* I see is the thyroid tests. If I were you, I would ask the Docs to check what is called FT3 and FT4. That stanRAB for Free t3 and free t4, which is an indication of how mych tsh or thyroid stimulating hormone is in your blooRABtream. That is the real indicator. The fact you were low at all tells me that it could very well all be thyroid related. Which, you can breathe a sigh of relief here, causes alot of the symptoms you describe and is VERY TREATABLE and VERY COMMON. In fact, once it is treated almost all symptoms will go away. Let me also add MS is not something to be scared of. I live with it every day, and do just fine. It isnt life threatening, or even life changing in m ost cases. Smile. Keep your head up, and ask the doc for those thyroid tests. Be well.
