Mrs. Doubtfire 2 Confirmed!

On the Coming Soon website, it confirms that Fox are going into pre-production of Mrs. Doubtfire 2, the 53rd highest grossing movie of all time.

Robin Williams is returning to play Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Doubtfire, but it is not yet known if Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan or any of the 3 child actors are going to return for their roles.

Is this a good idea of a bad one? I think the first film is hilarious, but have they left it too long to make a sequel? 12 years?!

Seems a bloody strange idea! It's a good film, although Robin Williams has surpassed himself in recent years with One Hour Photo/Insomnia/Death to Smoochy, and this seems like a step backwarRAB!

Although if they can get Brosnan and Field, it can't go too wrong as that's a good selction of actors.

As a little aside, when the fillm initially came out, I was about 10 or 11 and really quite fancied the daughter. Wonder if she'll have the same effect now... doubt it!
 
They brought terminater back for a second sequal after a long time 12 years wasnt is. I cant wait for mrs doutfite 2 to come on to the pictures. also I think it will do very well with the great Robin Williams.
 
i really dont think a sequal is a good move for anyone involved-seems pointless after all these years plus it wasnt even that funny-just average and SO painfully schmaltzy
 
I found the original hilarious - in fact, I've watched it many times on video!

I can't wait for the sequel - it can't go far wrong with Robin Williams, and if they get the other actors too, it should be excellent!
 
I was thinking about that actually.

I think if Stu is in the sequel, it might involve him needing Daniels help with something in his Mrs. Doubtfire guise. With Stu back on the scene, he and Miranda get back together again, forcing Daniel to think about weather or not he should help Stu, or if he should just move on as Miranda obviously has. There could be some sub-plot of one of the children needing help because of a bully at school or something, and Daniel tries to help out dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire. I don't know why, but I'm imagining a school trip and campfires....

They wouldn't think of something THAT predictable Patzer. :)

For a start, Mrs Doubtfire would have to look different as she has her show on tv and everyone knows its a bloke. (or do they? Fox Channel drag conspiracy!)
 
Nah he's just a big kid at heart. Mrs Doubfire is one of my fave movies I love it I PMSL as a kid and still have a chuckle now. If they do a sequal I dont think it will be as good.

I haven't seen Mrs. Doubtfire for ages and I'd love too.

I think it aged pretty badly from the look of the children and stuff, though it is still v funny!
 
i for one loved the original movie, perhaps maybe a little to late to bring out a sequel, but none the less i still think this movie will be a one to watch and i'll definatly be looking out for this one!! :)

Cant imagine what the story line is going to be :D
