Hello all. I finally got my MRI results, and hopefully someone can help decipher for me. Here it goes.

1. Small left paracentral T11-T12 herniated nucleus pulposus with mild stenosis.
2. Small left paracentral T6-T7 herniated nucleus pulposus with minimul spinal stenosis.
3.Moderate degenerative changes of the lower thoracic spine with mild kyphosis centered at T11-T12 level.
4. Moderate degenerative changes at C5-6 and C6-7 levels.
5.Small right paracentral and somewhat lateral L5-S1 herniated nucleus pulposus noted with mild spinal stenosis and moderate right neural foraminal stenosis.
Thank's Again;)

herniation is where the disc has been pushed outside of its normal boundaries. basically...you have discs out of place. bulging.

stenosis is...narrowing of the spinal canal. it can occur with the aging process..or it could be because of discs bulging out, causing narrowing of the spinal canal area.

degenerative...which is also known as degenerative disc disease....natural part of aging. its where the discs and material breaks down as we age.

Kyphosis is curve in your spine...yours is mild.

basically..you have 3 areas of bulging discs...with stenosis, and degenerative disc disease. most likely conservative methoRAB of treatments will be done...physical therapy, epidural steroid injections, pain meRAB. if symptoms do not improve within 6 months, they will probably start talking surgery.

Hi you have all three parts of your spine with issues.

C-spine is the least at issue, with noting of several discs degenerating.

T-spine. You have most of the issues here. You have several discs which have herniated (and this is different from a bulging disc. A bulging disc is where the outside layer --called the annulus, sticks out into the spinal canal. Whereas, a herniated disc is when the nucleus -aka- center leaks out of the disc through a tear in the annulus and often that tear can stick out into the canal as well. Bulging disc are most common and are often much larger than a herniated disc is if it is sticking out), with some stenosis (narrowing of the opening that the spinal cord runs through) noted at those levels. Additionally your spine is curving here and not in it's normal curved position, called Kyphosis. I understand that only way to really treat Kyphosis for progressive cases, is surgery.

L-spine. You have a small herniated disc at the base of your spine L5/S1 again with some mild stenosis.

Generally the 3 areas of the spine are all treated separately in terms of what area is bothering you the most or the most effected. You may get meRAB for all and PT to cover much of all too. I would imagine the main focus will be on the Thoracic spine.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
