Mr.Brooks

Kevin Costner seems like a nice enough guy, except sometimes he becomes possessed by his psycotic alter ego (William Hurt) and goes on bloody murderous rampages. Hot on his trail is a sexy police detective (Demi Moore) who develops an unusual bond with the slippery, split-personality serial killer.

I saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. I have never seen Kevin Costner properly and was blown away by the performance. I thought all the relationships between characters was great, anyone else seen it???

Bump...just saw this and I can easily say it was one of the best films I've seen in a long time. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, that's for sure. I was kept guessing all throughout, there was so much going on, the acting was superb. Everything was done brilliantly, Mr. Brooks was a very well written character, had so much depth.

The ending will stay with me for some time, gave me quite a chill.

I think Costner gets a ridiculous amount of stick, at worst his films can be overly sappy.

He was great fun as the villain in 3000 Miles To Graceland, and like the rest here, I thought he was very good in this film.

Watched this at the weekend. Loved it, certainly one of the best films I've seen in a while.

Can someone please explain the end to me? I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't post a spoiler. However, I think I understood the end, I just want to make sure :)

Loved this film - really creepy and a surprise from Costner (whom I normally hate) - he played his part really well but I was creeped out when Willima Hurt was in the car at the beginning...

Awful, awful movie. How anyone can take that movie seriously is beyond me. His DAUGHTER killed someone with an AXE!!!!!!!! She looked like somehting out of Hannah Montanna. What a load of nonsense. Even in fiction that was taking the piss. There are countless top quality thriller/horror's out there, and people like this. The mind boggles.

I've been meaning to watch this film for ages, finally got it from Blockbuster on Saturday and I thought it was pretty good. Not really what I'd expected and Kevin Costner did play the role of Earl Brooks well.

As for the ending -
I assume he still had it on his mind that if his daughter was just like him she may kill him one day. He dreamt that she did and when he woke up his inner self (William Hurt) was still asking why he was trying to suppress his own desire to continue murdering - maybe a hint that he should get rid of his daughter before she got rid of him?
