Mr. Bean on Holiday - The Movie

It's not as good as the first but i enjoyed. Regarding it was for Comic Relief it was quite good. Had some very laugh out loud moments and others just abit odd. I did enjoy it though.

Ive been watching the repeats of theTV series on Paramount and most of them are hilarious still.
But I thought the first film was disappointing, and the reviews for this have been poor.

i've just got back from seeing it and i thought it was fantastic!!! some bits were very funny like the dancing!!! it's just a happy laid back family film

Mr. Bean is crap! I mean yes there were some funny clips in the older episodes. I never watched the first film of Mr.Bean and I certainly won't be watching this nonsense either.

what charming language from a grandparent! :D
It wasn't laugh out loud but as I mentioned in another thread about this movie, it is a gentle humour which doesn't really offend unless you are offended by the fact that you didn't think it funny! I only ever laughed out loud at Mr Bean in the very early days when nobody had really seen stuff like this before. I sat with my mum in law watching the episode where he was changing his trousers on the beach and cleverly trying to get his trunks on over his trousers etc etc. There was a guy in a deckchair looking over at him and making Bean incredibly anxious. The punch line of course was that the guy was blind. Got up and walked away with his white stick. Also thought the fairground one was funny. Of course now we know what to expect with Bean. I don't find Little Britain particularly entertaining anymore because each show is a re-hash of the same old characters and scenes. I also think that kiRAB tastes change and are much more sophisticated nowadays. I went to see it with my 3 sons - the oldest being 16 and the youngest aged 6. Although they all enjoyed it in their own way, it probably appealed mostly to my 6 year old. That is probably the cut off point!

Overall assessmnet of the film - not as bad as I expected but then I didn't expect much. 11 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed it which is worrying as I thought she was quite bright.

Highlight Matt Willis's song Crash, for me because I remeber the original, for my 11 year old because she loves Matt.

I saw it earlier today and though many of the jokes or situations were a bit predictable i thought it was still quite good.

It was better than i expected anyway.

:)

I like Mr Bean but the film just did not seem to be him. Maybe some people should not be turned into films i do not know but i did not find many things funny and i did try

I think that this was without doubt THE worst film I have ever paid to see. It was lazy and completely lacking in charm. I wanted it to be good because I love Rowan Atkinson but it really was awful!

I went to see it a few days ago, and to be honest, it wasn't as good as I expected it to be.
It wasn't as funny as I thought it'd be, and in parts I got bored and had lack of interest in it. I felt it dragged on a little too, they could've made it a bit funnier I think.

Overall, I'd give it about 2/5. :(

LOL
When he lost his suitcase I said to my husband that that means Teddy's gone as well :D

I didn't like it that much I only laughed a couple of times which is a shame as I can watch the episodes over & over again & still laugh. My husband laughed at most of it and wanted to see it again straight after

I was going to post a separate topic about this but then I found this one so I'm posting this here...

Did ANYONE enjoy this movie? im saddened by some of the posts here...

I went to see it with my parents yesterday afternoon (we all needed to see a good lighthearted movie after the time we've been having as of late, trust me!) it was really good to see that this movie had him back portraying the original character and it was less Americanised than the first movie, although that one was alright too I guess.

As well as reading this discussion, I've had a quick look at other reviews/discussions of it on IMDB and such as, I don't know quite why so many people are leaving negative reviews, I guess they maybe had higher expectations but personally I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my parents :) the cinema was full of young kiRAB and families so we were maybe a bit older than most (im 24) but I don't care lol I remember watching the live action Mr Bean shows on ITV when I was growing up, they replayed some of them on Paramount Comedy 2 a few weeks back, classic stuff! I'd forgotten how good some of those shows were, the crazy golf one and the barber shop one :D

Anyway I thought it was a very good movie and I prefer it to the first one. Its a shame it seems to be getting bad reviews, so I thought I'd post to say that at least I (and my family) enjoyed it... there were points in the movie when quite a few people in the cinema laughed out loud too and I heard its doing well, it was pretty full when we went, so it can't be that bad :)

Personally I would recommend it if your looking for something to go and see as a distraction to cheer you up, don't expect a big blockbuster kind of movie of course but its still pretty funny.

Also for those that saw the movie and wondered why
Teddy wasn't in it,
I found this link posted on the IMDB message board, you can watch an interview with Rowan Atkinson (its in English although it seems to be for a Dutch TV station/show I think(?)) where he discusses the movie and explains
the lack of Teddy (lol),

I think maybe people expect a bit much, its a bit of lighthearted fun thats all :)

My parents were saying that they thought it was based on a movie from the early 1960s, a French movie... I can't remember what it was called but it was about a similar French mime-like character who travelled to the south of France...
