The timing of this thread could not have come at a better time for me. My cd alarm clock broke down this week and I was actually thinking about how to replace the clock. My wife suggested that I get an MP3 alarm clock. However, the only MP3 alarm clock I was aware of was designed for iPods. I don't have an iPod so that is a very expensive option for me to consider. When looking for some information to post in my first reply on this thread, I was pleasantly surprised to see these MP3 programs existed. My plan now is to purchase an MP3 alarm program for my T3 and a good set of computer speakers to plug into the T3's headphone jack.
I downloaded the trial version of 2 Play Me and tested it on my T3. These are my observations about the program.
1. When I chose Pocket Tunes as the player, I received Fatal Exception errors. I use Pocket Tunes version 2.3.2 and it is registered. I don't know if this is one of the limitations of the trial version of 2 Play Me. I would appreciate it if somebody with the registered version of this program would let me know if this issue exists. I don't want to purchase this program if it has compatibility issues with Pocket Tunes.
2. 2 Play Me works good with Real Player. However, you are unable to select specific songs to play. For some reason, 2 Play Me plays back the most recent MP3 file opened in Real Player. On the positive side of this, I discovered that even playlists will be opened by 2 Play Me. The ability to open playlists is a strong point for me to consider. Before I make a decision about which program to use, I plan on testing the others out first.
