Moving

Well, it's been confirmed that my dingy, old, nasty basement apartment has a black mold infestation. In addition to that, the dryers in the units do NOT vent to the outside. To do any work on the unit, they have to move me out due to the possibility that I can get even more sick. The main infestation is in the bathroom, which there's only one of in my unit. Clean-up can take up to a week in less humid weather, so I'd be out of my only cleaning abilities for a week!

The longer I stay out of my apartment, the better I feel, but after being "home" for about 20 minutes, I start to feel sick all over again. There are no available upper floor units in my complex, and no available units anywhere in my current complex.

So in short, I have to move 15 miles away in a hurry, before I get even more sick. The good part is that the apartments I'm looking into are owned by my employer, and much newer than my current apartment. They have two bathrooms as well, and a dryer that actually vents outside. The bad part about it is my rent will go up another $200 a month. They'll cut me a deal on first and last, and the security deposit since I'm moving in a hurry for health reasons, but the increase in rent is still a nice ding, considering that there were no raises this year because of the residential housing "slump".

I hate moving... but at least I'll be healthy again. I don't know when I'm moving, but it better be soon. I'm tired of being sick because of my own place.

The "landlord" also gives me my paycheck. The company I work for also owns the complex I live in currently. It's just one of the oldest apartment complexes they've built.

Hence, why they're so kind in helping move to a newer complex that they own.

I'd rather not go back to this dingy ass place. I'm sure that after having a full size, functioning washer and dryer, I'm not gonna want to go back. And walk in closets!

Ahh I see. I was going to go on a rant as to how they should let you stay at the newer place for the same cost as your current place, until your current place is fixed up.

However, I don't know your financial situation, so if you can afford to pay the higher rent easily enough, I'd say go for it, and good luck! Otherwise...yes, I'd have other advice, starting with what I said in the first paragraph.
