Moving! Not fun.

Yep, the title says it all. The past two weeks, I have been moving from point A to B. Not the house that was my favorite, but my parents love this place. I'm only staying here for another year, so no skin off my back, but that doesn't mean I enjoy the process. Moving REALLY freaking sucks.

Not only am I (once again) the only family member that STILL doesn't have all of his boxes full of content, but this place has been vacant for like a year, so theres a spider infestation going on. I don't like spiders. I've been getting my shoe bloodied with the gore of a thousand eight-legged freaks. Good news out of that, is they finally are starting to learn where they can not be, except I still am freaked out that the HUGE one that barely got away with it's life still remains unseen, and can quite possibly be out for revenge.

I can finally fall asleep in this place however, and I am only like three blocks from school so awesome for that, but best of all... We can get a dog! You just got to love those four legged balls of love and fur! For the past three years, we couldn't have one do to renting a house but we finally get a little buddy again. So obviously I'm back and as healthy as I can be! Not really sure if this was a rant or a description of absence or both, but there it was.

I agree. I hate the moving process. Luckily, my family is full of moving experts. When I moved home after college it took us 20 minutes to completely empty my apartment.

As far as the spiders, stomping is good. But I also arm myself with a spray of some sort. I find that window cleaner works pretty well. Then I can kill them from a distance.

Good luck with the dog thing! I have two spaniels and I love them to death. Dogs are amazing pets. :) Oh, and good luck getting the rest of your stuff.

I don't know how much stuff you own but if it's an entire household of furniture the best thing to do is get one of those storage bins dropped off at your house/apt and load it, lock it and let them haul it off to their wharehouse and when you relocate they should have it there waiting for you. I have a serious spine issue so moving for me is a true nightmare. I will have back spasms for weeks after moving furniture around. yeah Moving sucks.

Haha my family is getting full new furniture (and a computer!) with the 8 thousand dollar tax break thing for buying a new house before so and so date Mr. Obama-mama started. Get eight grand for whatever you want, sure! So anyways, my dad just took a buzz saw and cut all of the furniture we didn't want, which was all but one couch and the table set, and then depositing the rest in the dump. It was fun as hell. Oh, and thanks for the window cleaner tip! I found that big one. I had a lighter and a can of aerosol, let's just say I committed a war crime. But watching the giant eight-legged wolf spider run around at the speed of light was cool. The popping was sorta neat too.

i HATED moving, first of all becasue every five seconds i would think im leaving something very important behind, and i had to leave all my friends and stuff, too, and it was also the first time i really saw my dad cry, hmm... strange times indeed.

I haven't even moved yet and I'm already getting frustrated at the thought of it. After I save enough money up for my visa and my plane ticket, I'm going back down to Australia hopefully on a more permanent basis, but the only problem is that I've got heaps of crap that I just can't part with.
I'm wondering what will be more expensive, my flight or sending my books down with me.
