Moving bell pepper plants that are in the ground and about a 12" to 18" tall?

I read that you do not want to disturb their roots by moving them or they won't fair well. However, I for some silly reason, planted my garden backwards. I have pepper plants in the back and okra in the front. Well as my okra grows it's going to shade the pepper plants so I need to switch them around. I have about 4 pepper plants that need moved to the front of my garden. Is this possible or am I just asking to kill my plants by disturbing them? The okra are small, not even an inch so I'm not worried about moving them, they are going to need thinned anyways. Any advice?
 
mom says if you move them do it soon before they root any further

dig big around them and dig the hole your gonna put them in a bit bigger yet - at least a whole 12 inches around them, dump a gallon of water in the new hole and gently put them in

those peppers will get enough noon sun to be happy - moms peppers and okra are happy next to each other - just so you know
 
You should be fine as long as you make sure you dig deep enough and get the hole root of the pepper plant, you'll have to remember to dig a larger hole than usual too since the root needs to go down as deep as possible. Try putting some organic fertilizer in the hole before you put the pepper plant in. I think you should be fine.
