miss-rebel, have you seen Love Actually? It's a Christmas must!

Off the top of my head:
Into the Wild
Dr. Strangelove
Usual Suspects

Amelie
Moulin Rouge
500 days of Summer

:) Good stuff!

Miss-rebel86: have you tried four christmases? that's cute

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone knows some movies similar to Just friends or The Holiday or Love actually (first on my "Yet to watch list")...
Basically, I'm looking for a Christmas/winter movie, comedy or romantic comedy.

Would really appreciate if you can recommend some.

Clifford (1994) with Martin Short, Charles Grodin, Mary Steenburgen. It's not about the big red dog! Martin Short plays a 10 year old boy (while he's really 44 in real life... ), that is crazy, who stays with his uncle and hilarity ensues. It's so funny, and everyone I talk to has never seen it! :( The cast is so amazing, too. Definitely recommend it!

I'd rec Taken with Liam Neeson. It'll be on DVD in May. I saw it 5 times at the theater and it was great. Sure, there were more holes than swiss cheese but Liam Neeson had me from the word go. He was fantastic and actually you pretty much forgot about the plot holes, until the movie was over and even then, they weren't that important. Neeson just rocked it.

slumdog; def a must see!!
1408; amazing thriller and
leatherheads a great comedy!!

:wiggle:

I definately recommend "Knowing". I know the reviews have been kind of bad- it's said that that movie is pretty much a knock off to "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and others but that's the beauty of it. Stories like these can never be re-told too many times.

You should definatly go see The Fast and The Furious, best movie I've seen all year and I Love You Man was the funniest movie I've seen for like a year

good story, good portrayal, entertaining ....

Ive seen Race to Witch Mountain. Not bad. I was entertained.

out of curiosity why would you recommend those films?...because of the actors and actresses that appear in them?

i'm afraid to say that i see so little films that i'd be hard pressed to name even one that i could recommend....i'll have to give this thread some thought.....

Here are some good movies I recommend:
Cold Mountain - Jude Law, Nicole Kidman
Pursuit to Happyness - Will Smith
The Devil Wears Prada - Meryll Streep, Anne Hathaway
Bedtime Stories - Adam Sandler

I have a lot more but these are most recent ones that I've seen from DVDs and theaters.

What movies do you recommend?
