Have you ever loved a movie, but then heard almost nothing but toxic word-of-mouth for it?
For example, I loved Open Water in theatres. I thought it was a very effective, well-crafted thriller. But then, after the DVD release in particular, I heard almost nothing but criticism. "Boring," "pointless," "stupid," etc.
