Movies which confuse and bewilder you?

Funnily enough I didn't even make it to the end. I gave up and turned it off. It was quite far in, but it seemed to be going nowhere and like you I was just bored. Shame that.

I might go back and finish it off one day.

I haven't sussed Inland Empire yet - I'm building up for another viewing after about a first attempt 1 year ago!

I'd like to see Stalker again. Is that the one about the trip into "the zone"?

PS I Love You.

WHEN was it supposed to get interesting? I was told to bring my tissues..... exactly WHEN was the point where I was supposed to cry? I cry at everything.. even Pirates Of The Caribbean for God's sake!! But this film? Not an ounce of sympathy for any of those characters.

I've never been sure what happened in Croupier.
Did he kill his girlfriend? If not, it seemed a bit of a coincidence that she died so conveniently. But he didn't seem to be expecting the call that told him she was dead, and he had other options.

when i first watched mulholland drive it confused the hell out of me.

i admit to reading up on it, and the watched the last third again, and my jaw was almost literally on the floor at the genius of it. its actually pretty straightforward when you realise what was going on.

I was the same when I watched the original Russian version of Solaris*. Enjoyed the film as a whole, but when it finished I was like WTF?!

But then I went online, did a bit of reading and found out that...

...he had gone down to Solaris, not back to Earth and the planet was creating a version of his dreams and fantasies, but it was slightly messing things up, which is why it was raining indoors etc.

And I read that and was like, riiiiiiiight, now I get it, that's actually quite clever.

However, no amount of reading could explain why the film randomly switched between colour and B&W. Or why there was this really odd scene with a minor character driving through a futuristic city that lasted about ten minutes non-stop. Hey ho. I still liked it.

*Haven't seen the Clooney one. For all I know it's the same.

Mullholland Drive, read the synopsis, Woman loses memory and is helped to try to piece back her life (Something along those lines) and thought that sounRAB great.

Bought it, watched it and have no idea what actually happened.

It did lead me to Twin Peaks which I LOVED!

I tried to watch Casino once, but gave up after 30 mins. Just couldnt understand a word of it at all and it was so dreary too!!

Didnt like Goodfellas either, that was utter tosh.

DayWatch was terrible, I also liked the first one but DayWatch was a disappointing sequel and I kept nodding off because I was so bored with it. Had to keep rewinding back to when I fell asleep...
