Further to my other post about Remakes, anyone think of movies that were absolute shite, that could be remade better?
I'm thinking the reasons being: poor script, mis-cast, poor special effects. etc.

The Bourne Identity - not because it is bad, I really like the movie as it is, however, the only resemblance to the book is the title, and the book is so much better than the movie - so remake The Bourne Identity so that it runs along the same lines as the book - would be great:)

Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca, directed by the same guy that did The Others. The original film was very good, but I would just like to see a modern version. Would love to see someone like Meryl Streep as Mrs Danvers she would be excellent in the role!

I think Ron Howard did a fine job of trying to make this a good film. The most interesting parts of it, for me, were all visual. I can't see what else he could of done with the material. The book, from what i've read, just isn't Hollywood blockbuster material which the leval of interest in the book caused it to become.

Back to the subject at hand, The League of Extraordinary Gentleman and Tomb Raider.

Ok here is my list.

1. The Exorcist
Even though i think this is the greatest horror movie of all time but i think the possessed Regan could do with a remake. I am talking about trying to make it look like she is really possessed and not showing signs of tubes and making it obvious its all make up and stuff.

2. Speed
I do love this movie but i dont think its believeable because most of the action scenes are performed by stunts, you know what i mean?, like in some scenes when the people are on the bus and then they have shots where the camera is far away from the outside of the bus then you can tell they are stunts stuff like that and the scene when the buss jumps across the dead end road was amazing but again used stunts and there was a shot during that scene where no one was even in the bus.

3. Dude! Where's My Car
There are loaRAB of other comedies i think need a remake and this is one of them. Awful acting, bad script and it annoys the heck out of me, but i only ever saw this once and never again.

4. Tim Allen The Santa Clause & His dumb sequel Santa Clause 2
So frickin cheesy they need to remake them both and remove the cheesy stuff and make it more realistic.

5. Grease
Have Sandy & Danny getting married at the end of the movie, but see them really getting married in a church.

1. Resident Evil - (Because this tripe is a disgrace to the name it uses as it is NOTHING like the name it uses. It should show more respect to the source material like Silent Hill does to it's source material.)

2. Alien Vs Predator - (the first one as a second one is in filming just now but if the second one is good, then a remake of the first is not needed, as I can just forget it exists. The Predators in the first AVP movie were made to look weak, no respect was given to the Predators by the script writer).

3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake - (a remake of the remake, as it is a weak movie compared to the "TCM: The Begining").

4. Alone in the Dark - (The more I think about it, the more I realise it should be horror themed, not thriller themed. It had no eerie moments in it, unlike "Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare" video game did).

Agree on Resident Evil, not a bad film as a standalone thing but nothing like it could have been. Most videogame adaptations have been real dissapointments, anyway (Mario Bros springs to mind!).

Here's a very controversial one, because it's such an untouchable classic. A British version of Battle Royale, if well made and faithful to the original, could be great. The conditions are right with this climate of people being afraid of the youth, with chavy yobs put on a remote Scottish island along with the rest of their class represting a mix of the many and various youth cultures out there (that group that hung out by the beach could be hip-hop types, we already have those nerRAB who hack into the system and make the bomb, our heroes are of course the indie kiRAB, and we can kill off the Emos quite early!), all battling it out to the death. Nice.

GOOD GOD NO -LEAVE REBECCA ALONE - No modern remake where the inital trip to Manderly is turned into a car chase and the final scene had the building blown to smithereens

If you hate the film so much why would you want to see a remake?

Less cheese and more realistic? Wouldn't that defeat the objective of these films?

I would love to see a remake of "The Black Hole" - a 70's sci-fi classic.

I would also like to see a new version of "Logan's Run" and as luck would have it, I won't have to wait too long!

The Lord of the Rings, especially The Two Towers.

The first and last films are good, but the middle one strays too far from the character of the book. It cuts out the two endings (Frodo and Shelob, and the confrontation between the two wizarRAB) and replaces them with SFX rubbish instead (the Warg attack and Aragorn's "death" which fools no-one). It also makes the Ents hasty, and has the good brother Faramir turing evil, seizing the ring and taking it to Osgoliath.

I think the final film could be improved by starting with the Extended Edition and cutting out the few bits which don't belong. Eg seeing the oath-breakers attacking twice - once is enough. The first film Extended Edition is pretty much spot on.

I know it was made last year but i would like to see Domino remade which was absolutly terrible and with a better Director, Script and an actress that can actually act it could be a great film
