Movies that should be remade.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Still a bit closer to the book this time. The Ents should be wise not hasty and Faramir should be a good guy.

Dawn of the Dead, (1978) with a decent budget .
I know it was "remade" a couple of years ago, but I mean remake the CLASSIC.
Ill even wirite, produce and direct it if Romeros not interested*.
Ta!
*Sits by phone.

I'd love to see a remake of The Silent Partner (1978).

Great plot. I doubt they'd find a bad guy as good as Christopher Plummer was in that version though.

Doesn't need remaking. It just neeRAB turning back from the Director's Cut to the Dario Argento Zombies: Dawn of the Dead version that was originally released in the UK cinemas in 1978. That was perfect!:cool::cool:

This decade as seen a flurry of remakes which were often either pointless or rubbish
So which movies do you feel actually should be remade?

I'd say
The Omen 2 & 3 (Now they have remade the original why not not remake the full trilogy which I found really lacking overall).

Psychomania (Underrated British 70s comedy-horror which never really reached it's full potential)

Incredible Shrinking Man (If they could recreate the magic, modern technology could do for this what they did for King Kong.)[/QUOTE]

I remember seeing the shrinking man as a kid years ago, remembered it being scary in parts as he got smaller etc.

looking forward to The Clash of the Titans remake: just wonder if ILM/ Digital Domain can do Harryahausen's Medusa justice: that still spooks me now: the stop motion was very effective

another 1 I would add would be Jason and the Argonauts: could they do decent skeletons and the big statue justice

The only thing wrong with Jacob's Ladder (which is a very good film that captures the feeling of a nightmare) is the over-sentimentality when the hero's dead son appears, and it actually plays 'Sonny Boy' on the soundtrack. Oh dear.

Well I guess we are going back to the three's again! I am well aware that 'Carpenters' remake of 'The Thing' was a remake of the old black and white. Does a remake not count now if it has been done more than once?
You should'nt get so touchy. Accept when YOU also get it wrong at times. I don't know what has happened to the remake (AGAIN) of 'The Thing' but it was rumoured at the same time as 'Halloween' and 'Jaws'.
Put it this way, I'm willing to put money on it being remade!:p

one film i would love to see remade is a fairly obscure early 80's horror film called 'Q: The Winged Serpent'. i love the original which is a culty b movie with really sharp dialogue (i can imagine Tarantino being a fan) but every time i see it i wonder how cool a remake would be (provided it is done by someone with a bit of talent) as some of the special fx are a little ropey and this is one case where a little cgi would be welcomed.

There are so many movies I'd like to see be remade but no doubt they would all be worse.

Ghostbusters
Robocop
Back To The Future ( The cemistry between Marti and the Doc could never be replicated )
