I just saw this mentioned on a website and thought I'd post it here to see if I'm alone... There are three that come to mind for me:
1. Saving Private Ryan: My father was in WW2 and participated in D-Day. Just to watch what they went through waters my eye. I know the film is from a US perspective however I've read enough (and listened to my Dad) to know enough about what we went through too. Obviously my dad made it through the war however knowing his experiences it's a tough film to watch.
2. The Green Mile: The final scene is tough on anyone. I remember watching this the same year as Princess Diana's funeral and both had their moments (even though I'm not a royalist) to stir the emotions.
3. Glory: Sacrifice for what you believe in. Again, the final scenes are quite tough (for me anyway)

Can you forgive me for sneaking in a TV prog but the last scene in BlackAdder 4 always brings a lump to my throat.

I think Titanic is the ultimate love story, as well as the theme tune to it. I think when Leonardo's character first sees Rose and his eyes are glued to her for a few seconRAB [which is obviously over dramatic in the way he does it], this is when you know he utterly adores her and that no other woman becomes 'noticeable' to him.

My OH is a bit of a stoic, but I have seen his eyes water a wee bit once or twice...acts of extreme bravery don't exactly cause him to cry, but he needed a wee cuddle after watching Saving Private Ryan and Homeward Bound the Incredible Journey. (the old version, he just loves it!)
