Movies from your childhood

Annie :D i watched it endlessly, atleast until my video was strangely chewed up by the machine yet i dont remember it being in the machine (i suspect the actions of a similaly pissed of mum!!).

Also goonies, labrynith and although not really a movie as i think it was the mini series version

anne of green gables - god that was fantastic!

I'm among the more (ahem) older on here - my fav film from childhood was "The Amazing Mr Blunden" - a really magical ghost story starring Lynne Frederick and Diana Dors. It was directed by Lionel Jeffries just after he shot "The Railway Children".

I've got TAMB on DVD now - it's brilliant...

I won't disagree with that, except I was born in the early 60s!

'Explorers' is out on dvd, an HMV exclusive I think. Robert Picardo, ST Voyager's EMH plays 3 parts in the film.

Island At The Top Of The World is the earliest film i remember seeing, the scene with the airship is very vivid.
Followed by memories of Grease, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Battle Beyond The Stars.

Wellllllllllllllllll I feel decidely ancient.

I remember going to Saturday morning pictures as an ABC Minor and we used to watch The Lone Ranger and also Batman with Adam West (amongst a whole array of others) - they used to do them as serials so you had to go back to watch the next episode the following week.

I also remember going to the pictures with my parents and seeing films that they wanted to watch - Bridge on the River Kwai - was one of them.

Earliest films I remember seeing are:
When the north wind blows (Grizzly Adams type film)
Return to Witch Mountain
No Deposit, No Return
The Wombles movie
Pete's Dragon
Jungle Book
The Spy Who Loved me (first bond film I saw at the cinema)
Star Wars
Watership Down

I know I love return to Oz and watched it over and over again as a kid. Oh and roger rabbit, and the goonies, and mary poppins and labyrinth and the dark crystal.......the list is endless...............

The champ - still makes me cry
Oliver - know all the songs off by heart and still have to watch it every Christmas
Charlie and the chococolate factory, the REAL one.

The films I watched as a child were those such as...

The BFG
Labyrinth
Watership Down
Home Alone

that's about it really lol... that I can think of now

Snow White

Pinocchio

The Smurfs And The Magic Flute

The Aristocats

The Rescuers

The Fox And The Hound

The Goonies

Teen Wolf

Back To The Future

The Lord Of The Rings (only AA film I saw. I was about 9 or 10.)

The Beast Master

Superman and Superman 2

Flash Gordon

Clash Of The Titans

ET

Labyrinth

Ghostbusters

Gremlins

Captain Nemo And The Underwater City

The Jungle Book (movie)

Trips to the 'pictures' always seemed to end in tears for me

The Fantastic Journey
Bambi
The Belstone Fox
Watership Down
Charlotte's Web

Living across the road from the Odeon, it was too convenient to be taken home before the 'happy' endings.
