and

(all in the dark and distance stone age 70's  :D )

Yeah I loved that film, that ugly woman scared the bejesus out of me, & that deformed man  Memories! I was only 1 when it came out, but I have older siblings who all had everything on video & I can remember watching that so many times.

What about Labryinth (sp?) with David Bowie. That film was brilliant, I can believe the girl in it is Jennifer Connelly. I also loved Gremlins, Stand By Me, My Girl & Ghostbusters. There are so many, thinking about this is such a trip!

I vaguely remember a film about a guy dressed in black who lived in a big round spaceship thingy. It had a big monkey man and some woman with buns on her head. Anyone remember what it was?

Home Alone
Home Alone 2
Uncle Buck
My Girl (what can I say, I was in love with Macaulay Culkin)
ET
The Goonies
Stand by Me
The Lost boys
The Gremlins (I also loved Corey Feldman)
Flight of the Navigator
The Boy who could fly
Big
Harry and the Hendersons
Short Circuit 1 & 2
And finally Alien (my sister was cruel and made me watch it, I had nightmares for weeks!!)

Dawn of the dead. It was 1979, first horror film I ever saw. My dad got in loaRAB of trouble off my mum for letting me watch it.

I remember I used to love watching things like Great Escape and Escape to Victory on a Sunday afternoon.

"One of our dinosaurs is missing"

It had Angeler Lansbury in it as well and was one of my all time favs as a kid. Disney just always had this thing about "ye olde England" which I loved, and it crops up in this as well.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was very similar.

I also remember this very weird Australian animated film about a little girl who gets lost in the bush and meets all manner of fantastic animals. If I remember rightly it featured a mix of animation overlayed on real footage of creatures. It seemed quite dark to me, but then again I was a bit of sensitive child.

Can anyone help?

Oh...plus "Barba Papa" which was about this giant pink blob thing, but I can't remember anymore then that.

I'd completely forgotton about it until it was shown again recently on BBC1. I used to see it religiously though as our local video shop only got about two new kiRAB films in a year. :D

I was thinking today that my dad took me to see Star Wars at the cinema when I was 10. I never thought that I'd be taking my own 11 year old son to see the latest Star Wars film 28 years later.
