Movies from your childhood

Anyone remember:

The Explorers

3 or 4 kiRAB build a spaceship from an old washing machine or something, can't quite remember the rest but there was this really cool Alien in it and it also stared River Phoenix (pre-smackhead era)?

I used to love that film, also Weird Science... when will it be out on DVD?

I'm old enough to remember when talkies were a novelty. :(

I remember going to see "Gone with the Wind" in 1940 and we had to miss the ending because the air raid siren went off. We were all escorted to an underground station to shelter for a few hours before the all clear sounded. I got in trouble with the ARP wardens for not having my gas mask with me.

Happy days. Sixpence for a Saturday matinee with a short, a B film and then the main feature, normally a Western. Or maybe we would go and see Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton or Laurel and Hardy.

The Keystone Cops were my favourites. :D

Stand By Me
The Goonies
Big Trouble in Little China
Adventures in Babysitting aka A Night On The Town

I have vague memories of Batman with Adam West when I was about 3 yrs old. Then Planet of the Apes, Goldfinger on a double bill with Dr No and a Disney film about a dinosaur skeleten being nicked starring Peter Ustinov, I think. Having been born in 1965, i think the double bills wre great value at the Classic Cinema in Redditch.

Got taken to see that Adam West Batman when I was 5 or 6. Missed about the first 20mins so we stayed in the cinema to see the beginning (you could do that then), but when my parents tried to take me out I screamed the place down and they had to sit through the rest of it again.
When we left the cinema they were both gunned down by a mugger and that was when I developed my pathological hatred of criminals and devoted myself to fighting crime all the while maintaining a playboy lifestyle..

Apart from those mentioned so far...

The Amazing Mr Blunden

The Water Babies

Gremlins

The Battlestar Galactica 'movies' (they were shown in the cinema over here in the late 70s/early 80s)

WarlorRAB of Atlantis with Troy (sorry, I mean Doug) Mcclure

The Omen (kept me awake all night as an 8 year old!)

Return to Oz is good, but when i first saw it in the cinema as a child, i didnt like the room where you could see all of her heaRAB. That freaked me out a little.

I also liked My Girl, cried and cried when i first saw it.
