Movie trailers that look good...

I get really pissed of when you see a movie trailer which looks good and then the movie turns out to be a load of crap.

I found this with:
Holyman
Zoolander
The Royal Tenenbaums
Shallow Hal
Showtime
A Guy Thing
Lost In Translation

Im sure theres a few more Ive blanked out, has any one else had the same experience.

Scary movie 3!!!!! trailer was really funny with some scenes that didnt even make it to the final cut of the film! felt like i was cheated :(

I found these trailers not to do the films justice! The trailers seemed to imply that the films were your typical MOR American comedy, and both were far more than that. They didn't hint at all into the complex emotions that both films covered.

A couple I would give my vote to include:
Star Wars 2: I was expecting far more story and history from seeing the trailer.
About Schmit: The film was a let down and too drawn out, the trailer implied it was better than 'As good as it gets'.
Matrix 2+3: OK, so i wasn't expecting much to start with, but the trailers at least looked interesting. The films were dire.

No way! I loved that movie! I agree entirely that the trailer didn't measure up to the film itself. As mentioned, it came across as nothing special but was really a very unusual movie.

I have to say "Troy" and "Mona Lisa Smile" had trailers that made the movies appear worthwhile.. How misleading.

I Realy hate Trailers cause their all the same.most of the time they usualy tell the whole movie story or make the movie sound too good.

Yeah, I would have to agree. I really hate trailers that give away the entire plot line. And even worse for comedys, when they show the few jokes worth watching in the trailer.

Aw, I found ZOOLANDER hilarious. It really had me in stitches as it really does take the p**s out of the model industry - and scarily accurate with its portrayal of male models as a whole.

My biggest beef with film trailers is they give too many highlights away. Sometimes to the point where you basically know what the story is about and you have a feeling that all best bits of a film are in the trailer, anyway.

I generally avoid watching film trailers [and reading film reviews] whenever I can. It's more fun that way, going into cinema or renting a DVD blind, not knowing what the story is about and la la.
