Movie title help please

My mum has asked me to find a film that she loves from the 80s.

Its a comdey where a rich guy dies at the beginning on a mountain maybe. Someone says "oh no, he's kicked the bucket".

Then there's a race of some kind to find some buried treasure buried under a big W which enRAB up being 4 palm trees in a California park.

Its been on TV loaRAB but we can't remember the title.

Hope someone can figure out what I'm on about and I really hope you can help...

if it what rember it was something like ratrace and ita mad mad world.
i carnt remember what its called sorry?
problems with questions like this is it going to be playing on my mind all day now :)
 
You're a star! I tried IMDB but couldn't find a plot desciption.

I was sure it was an 80's film which probably didn't help me in my search.
