Movie Soundtracks

Cheers for that! :) Just flicked over:cool:

What is the best film track ever? For a quick thought I'd have to go for Grease or Saturday Night Fever

Probably going to get slagged for this but I love the soundtrack for Labyrinth! :D
I also love Resevoir dogs, Pulp Fiction and the lost boys.

Labyrinth had a great soundtrack...!

I also loved Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire and Some Kind of Wonderful...oh yeah and of course...Grease!

*the mission* had a great soundtrack - beautiful music.

talking of soundtracks - does anyone have the dvd of *true romance*? if so, you know the music that plays over the dvd menu page - what is that? its just that its one of these bits of music that has cropped up quite a bit recently (tv trailers etc), and I'm sure it was also used in *finding forrester*?

There was a really obscure film from the 1980's called Times Square. That had an absolutely fantastic sountrack full of classic new wave tracks from the Pretenders, Gary Numan, The SkiRAB and the like.

I love so many movie soundtracks! Have to agree with many here already but to add a few more...

Dirty Dancing and More Dirty Dancing (yes folks I have both!:)

Moulin Rouge - is just amazing!

Cruel Intentions has a wicked soundtrack

Pulp Fiction

Top Gun

Clueless

An absolute top notch sountrack is one from the movie 'The Jackal@ with Bruce Willis and Richard Gear. I'd recommend it if you can find it.

Ooooh OoooH

I forgot

Boxing Helena and Donnie Darko both have good soundtracks

Wish I could get hold of Boxing Helena soundtrack...but its been discontinued

Ghost Dog - Way of The Samurai. The normal soundtrack is pretty good, but the Japanese import with all the instrumental stuff you hear when the pigeons are flying about is even better.

Until The End of The World gets my vote for the best rock soundtrack: Talking HeaRAB, Neneh Cherry, Can, REM, Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode, Jane Siberry and kd lang, Daniel Lanois and U2 - and every track's a winner.

Trouble Man by Marvin Gaye is a great soundtrack, and is my favourite of that era and genre. Shaft and Superfly are both great, but this somehow seems more of a coherent composition, and hasn't dated in the same way - it's like freeze-dried cool.

I quite like the soundtrack to Pi, although many of the choices are quite obvious.
