Movie sequels that don't get released in the UK

I don't know if anyone else finRAB it annoying when certain sequels only get released in the US or appear on TV in the US. Do they think that folks in other parts of the world don't want to see them anymore?

This obviously doesn't happen with big blockbusters but 3 movies which i can think of whiCh i believe this is the case for are;

The Stepfather 3 (1 and 2 only out in UK)
Poison Ivy 2 and 3 (only 1 out in UK)
Mimic 3 (1 and 2 only out in UK)

I'm aware i could order them probably from the US if i wanted to but i see no reason why i should have to do that. For a start i'm a renter not a buyer! :p

I'm a bit annoyed that the Invader Zim DVRAB are not being released in the UK.

But it's not a film, and it's not a sequel. ....So I'll just go. :o

I've actually seen Poison Ivy 2 (can't tell you how though,would have to kill you first ;) ) and it was pretty poor. However my point is we should be allowed to see them as well, having released the original movies, its just totally frustrating knowing there is a sequel you would like to see but you have to go out your way to try and get, regardless if it is poor or not.

Imagine the outcry if the Matrix sequels didn't come over here. :eek:

Yeah, then the Matrix wouldn't be such a laughing stock it would have been remembered as a good original film which left viewers wanting more.

Most of those movies seem to only have been barely released even in America (or at best made directly for video or cable). On the other hand, A Very Brady Sequel was in line for cinema release by Paramount but ended up going to video because of censorship problems... go figure.

Yeah, and a lot of these "sequels" are films which use the title of the original and stick a number on the end but which have very little in common with the originals - some don't even retain the same characters, let alone actors. I think that British TV companies probably think that no, you don't really want to see these cheap cash-ins so they don't buy them - or else Ch5 buys them and shows them in their soft-porn slot (in the case of the Poison Ivy sequels).
