Movie remakes

ok, so over the last few years there has been a "few" remakes of old films, ie: The Fog, The Hills Have Eyes, Assault on Precinct 13, Amityville Horror, Cape Fear etc etc.

Out of all of them which ones do you prefer and do any of you consider any of the remakes to be better than the original ?

Personally i loved the remake of Cape Fear and Assault on Precinct 13, Hills have Eyes was quite good too....

I thought the Fog remake was crap...as was Carrie...

I consider The Hills Have Eyes superior to the original, I found the original incredibly boring for some reason when I first saw it. Absolutely adored the remake. Beautifully shot too.

Dawn of the Dead was very good too.

Only remakes I can think of that I really really enjoyed.

There are tons of Remake topics on here that a lot have posted in, go have a gander.

Assault on Precient 13 and The Dawn of the Dead are definitly two of the better remakes. I enjoyed both very much.

Have you heard about The BirRAB being remade? I hope they do a good job with an amazing classic.

You think she would have learned from The Ring Two, did she even read the script?

I'm not even wasting a millisecond of my time watching a remake of The BirRAB.

The original is Hitchcock perfection.

That would stop me from seeing it completely. At least Watts can act. :)

It might have been a thing where she was contract to do it and had no say, like Norton in Italian Job. Apparently. The Ring remake was at least decent, but the sequel to the remake was just terrible.

IMO the only remake that is better than the original is The Man Who Knew To Much but some are as good as the original.
I'd list these as:-
The Fly
The Thing
Scarface
Hills Have Eyes
Fistful of Dollars
Little Shop of Horrors
Magnificent Seven
Ocean's 11 (Not great but neither was the original)
Ammityville Horror (Again, nothing special but neither was the original)

IMO Dawn & Day of the dead were far better than the originals, even though the first ones are cult classics i always thought they didn't match up to the Italian shock zombie films that were more fun
