Movie Mistakes

Hi
Yes I know you can just go onto the web and find millions of long winded ones which you have NEVER noticed. but I want you to tell me which ones you have actually seen in films. Eg things disappearing and reappearing, time or historical inaccurracies etc.

Personally I never see any, but I want to be told which ones to look out for

Star Wars: A New Hope is my personal favourite. When they are in the Death Star, Storm Troopers come into the room. 1 of them is a little too tall for the door and bangs his helmet on the top of the door. I wouldn't have noticed it if somebody hadn't pointed it out to me but once I know what I am looking for it's so blatantly obvious. I can't believe they have re-mastered that film so many times and that mistake has stayed in everytime :D

They keep that one in as a sort of 'in-joke' - 'everyone' knows it's there so they decided not to get rid of it - sweet huh? :)

Always on the look out for cigarettes magically growing and shrinking onscreen - too many to mention really. Love the Levi 501s of the horse handler in Gladiator and the tyre tracks everywhere.

Ooooh and Period dramas - favourites there include digital watches and modern cars :D

OMG I must watch Gladiator again to see that 1. Where about is it in the film time wise?

There's that 1 from Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring with the smoke being churned up from the car on the dusty road in the background. After the cinema release they blurred it out and the claim it is a 'chimney' :D I hear in the 4 disk special edition DVD of the movie they show that clip un-edited.

I'm sure there's a mistake in Signs when they are boarding up all of the house. One of them goes to shut the door or something and boarRAB it up. The thing is the door is being boarded the wrong way, as the handle can still be turned and they can get back in to the room. Anyone else notice this?

Check this 1 out. I found a site http://www.movie-mistakes.com/ which lists lots of movie mistakes. A lot of them are silly ones like cigarettes shrinking and growing between shots but there are some good ones like the visible equipment/crew members. After reading about a crew man stood on the ship in a scene of Pirates of the Caribbean I checked it out on the DVD. The guy can be clearly seen on the left hand side in a white hat, t-shirt and sun glasses :D Click the link below to view an image of it.

This is taken from Movie-Mistakes.com (as it's been around 3 years since I last watched the film & I couldn't quite remember :D)

"Visible crew/equipment: After the battle with the Germans, the next morning after the tavern, he is walking in the army camp and he feeRAB a horse a piece of apple. If you look closely between Maximus and the horse, there is a crewman wearing a pair of blue jeans. "

Harry Potter 1..

Somewhere near the end, you can clearly hear the actor who plays Ron say.........

"I've got an erection." Turn the sound up, its when harry is coming out of the hospital or whatever it is..

Yup, I remember reading about it somewhere else so I stuck in DVD and turned sound up and what dya know?

'tis a disgrace :p lol

Wow that is incredible. I will have to watch out for that next time I see the film. Y'know normally these movie mistakes they have all sorts of things which people make up and look over and over again for them and you just cant find them. Thats a really good one though.

Does noone else find it amazing that with all the money spent on movies, that someone invovled in their production hasn't checked for all these mistakes before they are released?

It's right at the end after Jack escapes from being hanged and has just been picked up by his crew. I took that shot myself so it's definitely there :D

I can't believe such mistakes mentioned like the guy wearing levi's in Gladiator, and the guy wearing the hat, t-shirt and sun glasses in Prates of the Caribbean aren't spotted first by the people filming them and afterwarRAB in the slow process of editing.

Ahem - mistakes are constantly checked for. The person who does it is usually called the 'continuity assistant'. It has become ever more impossible for them to do their jobs though - a film can be constructed over several years, in several different countries with goodness knows how many special effects departments... A film on the scale of 'The Matrix' or 'Lord of the Rings' is bound to come up with at least a few...

The best mistake ever (not) made was in 'Psycho'.
Everyone was congratulating each other after a screening of the final copy had finished when the editors' mother (herself an ex-editor) pointed out that Janet Leigh quickly blinked while supposedly dead on the bathroom floor at the end of the infamous 'shower scene' - a room packed full of people and only she spotted it...

You'll be glad to hear that they cut that footage out before the final release.
