Movie Go-ers are worse than one thinks

nah.. drama would be to go to the theatre and proceed to bitch to the consessions attendant for an hour and ten minutes on how much cheaper things were when I was a kid and the value of a doller and then go off on a tanget about apple fritters being sold during ww2 and called freedom pies..

I worked at Blockbuster in a relatively small town in Indiana. Meaning there were people with too much money. I distinctly recall a man bitching about rental prices (which had recently gone up SLIGHTLY). After he PAID FOR HIS RENTALS ANYWAY, he walked outside in a huff and drove off in his shiny new BMW. Hypocrites are my favorite.

I work at an overpriced import store. I see so many obscenely rich people it makes me want to puke. Some guy bought a $400 bottle of wine from me the other day, and paid in cash. Some of them have so much money, but they want to argue about $0.12 worth of savings, even when they're wrong!

For the last time, Just becasue it's red or green, doesn't mean it's 50% off.

I spent about six months cleaning a Theater up after American GI's in Germany, that's a weird sentance. Anyhow, I was amazed truly at the slobs. So much waste, so much time spent cleaning, and so many spilt drinks. Luckily it was a small single screen theater. So I feel ya man.

The only way those people got rich was by being a cheap ass in the first place. $0.12 worth of savings ads up after a while.

I think some folks figure clean up service is provided in the cost of the movie ticket. They're the same ones who trash a hotel room, figuring maid service is included in the cost of the room. Or are too lazy to hand over their garbage when the flight attendant walks by for the 14th time, and leave it strewn all over the seats, seat pockets and floor.

Oblivious or inconsiderate?

Bet you're happy you don't work in a porn theater.

Haha! I'm one of those people who take the stuff out with me and leave it outside the car for me or someone else to run over. :happysad: At least I don't leave it on the ground in the movie theater!

I worked my ass off at a movie theatre for 6 months at minimal wage, and was so good that they begged me to stay (bribbing me with a promotion to QA and a raise) but it wasn't worth it. As for your comment on why can't people throw away their own trash, what we did at my movie theatre was that when a certain room had alot of people (usually about 150-250) we would yell with a police officer beside us for people to please pick up their trash to make our job easier. Suprisingly it worked quite well, you should try it.

I know what it's like to be swamped on the holidays. Once I had an 8 hour shift, doing floor alone on Thanksgiving. Why? Because they had ran over their limit for paying employees. Anotherwards I had 10-15 minutes to clean each theatre (usually 75-200 for the bigger ones) ALONE. I cleaned every single theatre quite well, there was no complaints, and I wasn't even late for any of the theatres. My manager asked who was on floor, and they said just Josh, and when I was leaving she gave me a hug (she never does this) and said I was her hero because I just cleaned after about 2,000 people alone she estimated.

Theatre job is fun because of the people you work with, and because alot of the time you can sit around without doing much on weekdays. Other than that, the customers are rude, it is bad pay, and the rushes are horrible. My advice to you is to quite that crap ass job (believe me, I know) and go to a golf course, you get paid more, and the job is alot easier. The customers are still assholes, but you won't have to deal with nearly as much of a rush as the 7:00 rushes at the movie theatres.

Good luck!

Hell, wine is wine.... Don't fuck with it ;)

However, those people are rich because they're tightasses. I watch my girlfriends mother throw around her single parents pension and money from her father (for the younger sisters) like its common dirt... and they're on their knees by the end of the month. Its useless spending, and people need to learn.

But still slinger, i know were your comming from... I had just completed my last ever christmas eve at kfc, its unbelievable when the public is involved.

guh, I worked truck yesturday... the normal crew amount is roughly 7-8 working it... there were 3 of us. Not to mention the ushers on the main floor were understaffed so we had to help them too
