A little known secret of mine.

Do any of you listen to Radio five on a Saturday night from about 2am to 4am?

I do....often when I fall into bed!

At that time, there is a film phone in. Dave Aldred runs it and he is cool. He has a question to phone into everyweek, and you just phone in on the freephone number, go on air, and discuss whatever he has asked.

(normally stuff like your favourite comedy, Brit film, etc.)

It is dead easy to get on air if you ring early enough..and at that time of night, you do not have the shame of anyone you know listening (which is good as I am always tipsy and nearly swore two weeks ago! :D)

Anyway..my point is..anyone who phones in gets a free DVD.

Sometimes they are naff..but I have now phoned in five times and have got 'Old School' (when it came out) 'The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy', 'The Lady killers' plus two naff ones...but they are all free just for phoning in and chatting about our favourite subject!

Good luck anyone who follows this up..and let us know what you get.

He doesn't mind..he even remembers regular listeners. :)

And as we got 'THHGTTG' the day after it came out...how can you quibble!:D
 
I was tipsy lasy night!

It is Sunday morning after a Saturday night! :D i.e...2am Sunday morning (though sometimes 2.30 or 3.00 am depending on stuff like Grand Prix coverage, etc. )
 
Does everyone get a DVD though ?

Because last week the guy didnt ask everyone to leave there address etc :/

I might call in somtime, but i aint sure what i would say.......
 
Yes you all do if you get on air, he said it last night. Also they take your address before you go on air..that's why he doesn't ask them to leave it anymore.
 
Trust me! He said last night everyone would get a dvd who phoned in at about 2.35am, I was listening..plus I have done this so many times it is not funny!

Believe me or don't..I don't mind. Just trying to be helpful to be honest. If you don't ring it, it doesn't matter to me in the slightest, just I like to share a bit of good stuff about as we all need a few freebies in life! And the phone call is free too, so you have nothing to lose. Maybe next time. I'll keep it to myself! :D

I was listening last night Boho.........the discussion about sporting films, but I turned off when they said they were going to start taking calls, so I missed you............. :D
 
You didn't miss anything hun..I fell asleep whilst the phone was ringing!

I go on there alot though..but not as Boho....;)

Well if you herd him you would have herd him say people who have somthing good to say and contribute proper will get somthing for Free ;) hehe

i had it in from 2.05, just after i saw the thread pop up again ;), i even listend to a bit of the baseball thingy :|
 
I heard him and this is my last post on the subject. Wish I had never told you now to be honest! :D I have been doing this for two years now and he says the same thing every week. And if you get on air, you get a prize...if you read my OP it might be an awful DVD or it might be a great one...but it costs nothing.

Believe me or not..I really do not care anymore and I have NO reason to lie...why on earth would I? Thanks for being so picky and making me fed up this wet Monday morning. :(

I was trying to be helpful. :( What you do with the info is up to you now.

Everyone else who tries this, good luck and hope you get a nice dvd. :)
 
I might have a go in a few minutes although my luck is terrible at the moment.

EDIT: Well I've tried to sound as interesting as possible and they'll give me a ringback if I'm selected.

I'm not hopeful. :o

EDIT2: No, not on the air this time but I'll try again. :rolleyes:
