Movie character fancy dress ideas?!

I need help!

I am going on a movie character fancy dress theme night in a couple of weeks and am after some original ideas.

I am bored of catwoman, princess leia cliched suggestions.

My criteria are:

*Its got to be female
*Practical (for drinking, dancing etc)
*Nothing frumpy, but also not too ott reavealing as I'll be out with about 40 RAF blokes!!
*reasonbly inexpensive to create
 
Mei in House of Flying Daggers or Sayuri from Memoirs of a Geisha - Now that would be ambitious.

Edit: saw your criteria, throw that idea out the window then...
 
How about a cheerleading costume and a wooden stake - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, at least the blokes will love it! And lets face it, the things designed to move around freely in!

Any of Charlie's Angels

Bridget Jones

Lee Holloway - Secretary

Reese witherspoon's character in legally blonde (pink dress, stuffed toy dog again)

Tina Turner - What's love got to do with it

Princess Fiona - Shrek

any of the characters Doris Day played

Sandy from Grease (cliched, i know)


personally, I think the Mia Wallace suggestion was brilliant and very easy and practical
 
I've got a highly nasty* charity shop wedding dress I'm prepared to donate to the cause :)

*It's nylon. I cut most of the frilly bits off (including the net curtain balloon sleeves and net curtain polo-neck effect). It's vile.
 
Thanks very much for the gesture, but unfortunately there are already two people going as 'the bride', we've got 4 princess leias and about half a dozen sandys!!

I like the idea of mia wallace, I'm trying to convince my two male housemates to go as Jules and Vincent :D
 
Wonder Woman......You could rope some men in with your golden truth rope!! :D (I know she's not a movie character but a cult superhero IMO)
