Move SIM from One Nextel to another

Likley already covered, but I am new. I have a i730 but I want to buy an i830 without a 2 year contract and the "Nextel rip off current customer plan". Can I just move my SIM from the I730 to the i830 or what do I have to do?

BTW, yes all you have to do is switch your SIM card to the new phone..
