Mouth pain un-related to my tooth (HELP!)

Quick back story, a year ago I had a root canal done on a tooth of mine. Occasionally it would hurt but only for a short time. Finally last week it hurt so bad I was in tears and went back to the dentist.

Three different dentists have take x-rays and done tests, and can't find a tooth that's causing my pain. They suggested it might be my sinuses putting pressure on the nerves and causing the pain.

One said it might be TMJ, but if I had TMJ my whole jaw would be immobile, it wouldn't feel like stabbing tooth pain.

I went to the doctor today, she looked in my ears, nose etc. She said my sinuses dont seem infected or clogged. I forget what she said it might be, but there's no test for it, and you know you have it by process of elimination. It's the nerves in your upper jaw connected to your brain, and this thing can cause problems there. She said it usually lasts 7-10 days, but can last months.

So I'm handing it over to you guys. What on earth might the problem be. I've been dealing with "root canal style" pain for a week now and it's unbearable. The Ibuprofin and Vicodin work sometimes, othertimes it feels like they dont do anything.

The pain starts in the back of my mouth (up right side) like extreme tooth pain, and expands into a headache by my temple. It then expands into a full migraine all over my head. If you've heard of it before or have any suggestions I will love you forever.
 
I have a pinched nerve that runs from my left shoulder up through my left neck, into the side of my face, into my ear at times, and at times even up across that eyebrow and behind that eye, and often into that jaw. It can even make my cheek and nose hurt.

I had a traumatic tooth pulling where they had to drill the roots out. I also had to hold my head in an awkward position for an hour while all of this was going on. Even after the pain of the extraction was gone, I would suffer terribly from the pain in the jaw and everywhere else.

In my case, I believe nerves were damaged at the extraction site and the pinching of the nerve in my shoulder (already osteoarthritis there) just linked up and caused a path of pain.

There might be some kind of nerve block they can do for you if they find out what it is and if it persists any longer. Yours is still recent enough. I just lived with mine for too long and it got to where there was really nothing they could do for it but it is not that often that I feel that pain any more unless I do something to aggravate that nerve.

Skip the dentist and go to a good oral surgeon and have him take a look at it. I just spent an hour plus in a chair while one dug our the root of a broken tooth. Youo may have the bottom of a root left in there that isn't showing up on the x-rays and is causing trouble. I had my surgery done last week and am still recovering from it so yes, they can be painful and take time to recover from.
