Mountain bike question.?

Hi, i am going to try and build a mountain bike, i have brought the frame and i am confused what rear cassette i would need and what type of chain would i need to but on the bike, i am going to use the bike for everyday use on pavements and nothing extreme. The bike is going to have 24 gears, so what chain would i need and what cassette speed and size would i need. Many thanks.

you'll need an 8spd cassette with the matching chain. nothing too too big, like a 12-30, not up to 32 which is for climbing.

an XT cassette will set you back maybe 50$, matching chain 15$

I would get a decent level of componentry so it lasts a while for everyday use.
