ok so after hours of searching and furabling around with this darn phone, i finally got the full cricket solution to flash over the Sprint Q9C
I decided to post this up as a token of appreciation to all those on this board, and over at m-f..

if there is already a tutorial for this phone i apologize and suppose a MOD will lock/delete the thread, but i have been searching and didnt find to much, especially the Sprint SPC solution

lets get started:
go to motorola's homepage and get the Customer Upgrade for the motorola Q9, this is not a monster! but you will need it for MMS.

next:
RadioComm 11.3.2 (google is your friend)

RadioComm will get the SPC on your sprint Q9 and allow you to re-write to all 0's

Open up Radiocomm, and select Main->MA->CDMA1X-> MSM 6x50 chipset.

then click on the p2k-1 tab and make the entries to be the same asi have set here:
radiocomm.jpg

if your phone is not showing up as CONNECTED, go under Settings->USB->M-Link USB Driver

this should connect to Radiocomm now, once all the values are typed like i have shown in the picture above, press the RDELEM button to read
you will get either a nuraber like this: 3000300000003000000000000000 (28 digits) if so make it read like this: 3000300030003000300030000000 and press SDELEM to write
or it will show you a nuraber like this: 3x3x3x3x3x3x in which case the x's are your SPC code (xxxxxx) change out the x's to 0 and press SDELEM to write new SPC

Open up RSD Lite, open this file: http://rapiRABhare.com/files/158878032/Cricket-PRL-SIP.hs.html

and write it to phone

Now open up RSD General 5.1.4 select the check box next to and read the PRL and Mobile IP, click on PRL, select Open and navigate to your PRL file (it will have 1039 PRL but you can use this time to update it to 1042 or 1050 or whatever you want)

now you have 000000 for SPC, voice, text, and web

now use SamsungD415's regular Q tut. for writing delete-n-set.xml file and load PHM to edit the MMS settings the same way he has explained.

I ahve used this phone all day on EVDO all functions great!

Thanks to everyone who helped and hope this helps others looking for the same info.

I have a super easy way for MMS, not sure if it was published already so by no means am I taking credit for it.

*Go to Messaging
*Select MMS
*Hit menu
*Go to MMS Setting
*Select MMSC Settings
*Hit Menu
*Select Add

Profile Name: Cricket MMS (or whatever you want to name it)
MMSC: http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Data Connections: Cricket_Wap
gateway: None

Oh and Great write up gsrballa05

Yes you do need to upgrade it to the Q9M so it will work, good point randomwit. I believe that file is out there but if anyone neeRAB it just PM me and I'll send it to you.

at first this didnt work for me. when i read the seem it showed up as 6 0's then 4 3's and some nurabers. i tryed to write 3000300030003000300030000000 to it but it would not take it. I then noticed when i read it that the data length change to e3. So i changed the data length to that and then i was able to write 3000300030003000300030000000 to it. So if anyone is having problems with the reg method of the 3x thing and there are not 6 3x to read your 6 digit spc you may try it this way

This link is dead. Could someone please provide a new link or attach to a post. I did a search for Cricket PRL SIP and didn't find anything similar. Thanks. Is this a custom config for the Q9C?

I was the original creator of Cricket-PRL-SIP.hs, and here is a link that won't reach a download limit:

http://rapiRABhare.com/files/160428427/2-Beezlewaxin-Cricket-PRL-SIP.hs

I made this file about a year ago, using RadioComm.
It is a custom motorola flex file which only does 2 things:

1. LoaRAB the cricket PRL using MOTO_Q_CKT_PRL_1039.hs
2. Changes MIP mode to "Simply IP only" (STELEM seem 01CB to value "00")

Also, here is a link to the verizon Q9c WM6.1 upgrade file (for MMS, threaded sms, and the new 'sliding panels' homescreen):
VRZ_P3_NN_C_07_1_.7A.00I_UPGRADE_FILE_01.sbf

PS - If the Cricket-PRL-SIP.hs file you posted contains an EVDO PRL then it's not mine, but has the *exact* same naming convention.

Also, even if the Q9 has an EV icon, it is probably switching to a 1X icon during a data connection, but the since the icon is normally hidden while the browser is open, the switch to 1X may not be evident. The only way to know, is to open your browser and wait for a page to load, then immediately press the Home button. This will minimize the browser, and you can now see the 1X or EV icon.

thnx for posting...i hate it when credit is not given and i knew you were the first one to develope this method...

btw- thnx for sending me that file way back in the day...lol :buddies:
