Motorola Droid question?

My contract is not up until another 6 months and a half.. im tired off windows mobile, tried android and love it, and this phone has the latest version.. how much is the phone since i have to buy it full retail and is there a rebate?? or do you only get the rebate if you re-new your contract if you where eligible for upgrade.. I heard its about 700.00 and would think after paying that much there would be some kinda rebate somehow.
 
It's 559.99 at Verizon. There's no rebate available.

One thing to note, you are eligible for an upgrade when you've completed 20 months of your contract. It sounds like that's about 2 1/2 months from now. If that's the case, it's worth waiting.
