Droid X here...

I've got my Droid X up and activated on alltel... What I've done:

Used CDMA Workshop to write the Alltel 31005 latest smartphone PRL in my area.
Activated the phone.

Applied the NV items using cdma workshop from the beginning of this thread so that its [email protected]

Went to QPST to apply the UM/AN AAA an HA authentication keys, did that, ...

I have 1X data, it's solid and works perfectly in all apps throughout the OS, 3G pops up every once in a while on the status bar but I think it is failing authentication, 3G disappears seconds after the 3G logo appears in the status bar and drops back to 1X.

Can someone help? I think I have data entered in incorrect fields.

I had my ERIS up and going on alltel 100% perfectly.

How?...

On my eris, ##778 brought me to the service programming, in the SECURITY menu, I have..

HDR AN AUTH User ID: [email protected]
HDR AN AUTH: my hex esn of the Eris in caps
PPP USER ID: my [email protected]
PPP Pass: alltel

... after applying these settings, 3G works perfect on the Eris.

The only thing I had to do on the Verizon Eris was apply the Alltel PRL and enter those values above... Obviously that all I'm going to need to do with the Droid X also, but where do I enter these values in QPST since the Droid X doesn't have a built in service programming app like the Eris does?

How do I tell what my HEX ESN is of my droid X ? .. i've tried converting the MEID with converter tools online but I don't know if its correct or if I'm doing it right, my eris tells me my hex ESN in the programming menu outright, the droid X doesnt. hex ESN is needed for the HDR AN Auth password on alltel.

thanks for any help

everything works flawless on my phone (thanks everyone) but when someone sends me a mms and i go to download it never works. i can send mms just fine, get on the internet etc.... i think its an issue on crickets end. i have called them a few times and had the provision and refresh my mms and still does it.

What kind of rom are you running?
Is it showing a "download" button for incoming mms?
I would check your cricket account to see if you have the picture messaging feature. If everything looks good on Cricket's end, it could be something with the rom or settings.

Anyone?

I feel like im close to getting this to work but i feel like i might be missing something simple...or change something...

I did a cmd
adb shell
and ping wap.mycricket.com
and it shows i get replies...

i'm running the rom posted on the first page. Smoked Glass 6.0.1 Rom. i have the $40 plan from cricket. i was on the $60 plan and it still didn't work. i get a text with the download button. i select it and after a few mins i get an error message "unable to download"

I have been running on the cricket network great with the droid for a couple weeks. Yesterday I went to a job site about 10-20 miles outside the main cricket area (first time I figured I should be on roaming) using prl 6499. I had not been to the site before so I don't actually know if cricket has roaming coverage there or not, but I either had bars or not. (is there any indicator on the droid for roaming besides in the phone info status page?)

Well the problem is I came back and I am 100% sure I had data working when I got back last night (as I was using google maps when I got back in town). Now today after being home and having the wifi on I get nothing on the data today. No mms no data. rebooted a half dozen times. Called cricket they said they did a picture msg refresh, and then I specifically asked for a web refresh also and she said hold and then told me she had that put in and it should work after a reboot on the phone. --- I still got nothing. *#*#4636#*#* shows some packets are coming and going. Pinging wap.mycricket.com works about 150ms average time. 3g icon shows data going in and out, but I never get anything.
The cricket website is down... so I cant login to see any info on the account (if there was anything to see).

Any ideas ?

Just read this morning that Cricket changed their IP.. There is a thread in the main Cricket section here. You will have to edit the 10.133.26.12 IP in autostart.sh to 10.132.25.254

Someone had a similar issue a page or two back. The account was refreshed and everything worked again.
See if you can get one of the guys here to refresh your account for you. You might be missing the mms feature in your account.

If anyone needs help on editing the autostart.sh, just use Root Explorer, go to /data/opt/ directory, press and hold on autostart.sh, scroll down and choose Open in Text Editor and edit the IP to 10.132.25.254, then press Menu and Save and Exit, then Reboot.

Here is a edited version of autostart.sh

I switched over to the new u2nl earlier when I was messing with everything else. So far so good. Seems to me to keep more memory free that was getting tied up in those extra u2nl's that were laying around. I have only seen one instance of u2nl in the ps list every time I have checked it since switching

edit: like 5 instances now that its been on a few hours...

Quick question, what exactly do the u2nl files do ? ....

Do they only apply to a droid user switching to cricket or does it apply to ALL carriers? I am switching to ALLTEL not cricket, do I need to do the u2nl step?

thanks

I am doing this on a Droid X ROOTED

I have my droid X up on alltel, 1X data is solid and works great, when 3G is showing in the status bar, data still only goes at 1x speed or not at all until it shows its only on 1X again, 3G is not working correctly, is this because I have not done the u2nl autostart step ?... Thanks. I just dont want to screw anything up
