I've been on cricket a long time and the only time I have seen that (where you get the msg with a link to the site to view the msg) is if your account (I manage like 5 accounts) has txting but not picture msging. Only thing I can imagine is that they some how goofed up your account by disabling picture msgs. -- Just offering a possible cause...

See, that's what Jammis helped me with. I called to get the account refreshed and was told pix messaging wasn't allowed on my handset, (although I only told them it was a motorola, they just asked for manufacturer). Jammis changed the phone on my account to cricket's new android phone, and refreshed my accounts. To no avail.

Called CS again, once again got the accounts refreshed. Using my handset as the test case, then I'll move on to the wife's. I started from scratch, reloaded the original 2.01 downgrade and went from there. Once again, I'm back up, talk/text/web all great, even loaded the prl listed in the tutorial, (I had used the prl from my old handset since I had just ota'd the day before). Still no mms. Same message, "you have a new multimedia message, visit mycricket.com/mms". Ordered a new handset from ebay since this one has a chip in the screen, maybe there's a hardware issue.. but that doesn't explain why my wife's doesn't work. Kinda typing out my thought process, sorry.

Yea, it sounds more like an account issue than a hardware / software issue. Can you log into your cricket account on mycricket.com and view what your service plan includes? Mine shows unlimited picture/video messaging.

I was actually doing that right before I saw your post. It did NOT show unlimited picture/video.. dunno why. I went to change plan, and re-added the 40 plan, it showed pix there, but when I went back to my account.. no pix. Upgraded to the 60, tada, unlimited picture/video, then went back to 40 and voila there it was.. testing now.. Ok, I'm receiving, but it appears that it isn't sending.. and no () around the numbers, so that's not it.

I have a question though it may be off topic a bit. I'm using Handcent SMS on Froyo. When I first upgraded to Froyo handcent worked fine but now it won't send MMS. I can still send MMS via the default Android Message app but I can't figure why Handcent would suddenly stop sending MMS. I can receive MMS fine via Handcent. I don't think it's an issue with the app, but maybe a setting with iptables and/or u2nl. Any ideas why it's doing this?

Like I say I can send the same MMS message with the default message app and handcent was working. I'm not even sending a picture all I'm doing is adding a subject line which automatically switches it to MMS. The MMS is 1 or 2k in size. I think the problem is that the handcent app is not going through the proxy. What's weird is that it worked last week and now it isn't working. There has to be a config file somewhere that should correct this issue but I haven't found it yet.

I am having the same issue. It starts off working fine then about 5 minutes later the 1x symbol disappears. If I run autostart.sh, it will not work, I turn the phone on/off and it won't work. I have to do adb reboot and when the phone comes up it does the same thing, it only works for the same amount of time. I am using the ROM mentioned in the first post.
I do #/data/opt/autostart.sh and i get the following,

/data/opt/autostart.sh
/data/opt/autostart.sh: permisssion denied

The setting is correct when i do, *#*#4636#*#*
