@tzBIGWORM Thanks for your help. I tried to flash the “VZW_A855_ESD56_QSC6085BP_C_01.3E.01P_SW_UPDATE_03.sbf” and it worked.

Hey guys. so I've flashed my phone and everything thanks to every single one of you. I got my evdo settings all setup but I feel like it's just running down my battery since it tries to connect to the internet, but it can't, since I don't have a data plan.
So is there a way for me to take away the nv items so there's no 3G symbol or anything?

Could I just flash back to a stock Verizon 2.1, then put in the Cricket PRL?

well I'm on the final steps of the tutorial after a week..

My main concern:
1. I cant even text on my phone, nor can I press *228 so it could program my phone which I really need, any suggestions? I live in buffalo btw and I have the 40$ plan. Are there any custom PRLs or is there some sort of regional option?

2. The EVDO part of the tutorial, there is no EVDO option in CDMA WS 2.7, and I dled the trial of 3.5 and it wont let me do anything, is there anyway around this?

3. in the last part where it says to take autostart.sh and the u2nl file and etc etc through the command prompt. Is there an alternative way of doing that? The google SDK is probabaly not installed right on my computer, it gives me so many errors. I do have a legit version of ROOT EXPLORER on my droid. How can I do it with root explorer?

4. Are there any regional settings/PRL's for people in the Buffalo area? I have the 40$ plan.

@SyZtyM my bad on suggesting you edit the guide, I actually saw on another forum that the topic was brought up and holo or some guy denied you the permission to edit his original thread. my bad and you deserve a few beers next time your in Buffalo (ill get you the best wings youve ever had for all your help too, these wings are worth it, trust me)

So, I am on alltel, I bought this phone and i have a hell of a time getting the thing to work properly. I currently have it on my network and I can call, text and use the internet at 1x but i can't get it to connect EV/3g The only way I can get it to connect 1x is to dial *#*#info#*#* go to phone information and force cdma only , if i run a ping test with cdma (prl) it comes up and tells me it can't connect to the server. In CDMA only (1x) it pings fine but the internet just is quite sluggish.

Is their anyway maybe I can get a new IP and Port setting to put in my autostart.sh for alltel?
Or possibly my coworker has an alltel htc hero running droid can i look at his settings and possibly gain access to what ip and port his phone dials out to??

Assistance would be most appreciated.

Okay so I will answer this as it came from your message as best as I can from the problems I had to deal with as I did it.
1. assuming this is the same problem I had after flashing and trying to change my MIN and MDN.
When you call out if you get a lady saying "if you would like to make a collect call blah blah blah" than you need to call your service provider and ask for you MIN# they shouldn't give you any problems with it. than use cdma WS 2.7 to change your MIN# to whatever they gave you and your MDN# to the number you have as your own. If you are able to call and it TRIES to activate than you probably need to call your provider from a separate phone and have them activate your phone over that way.
2.evdo option is only available in the 3.5 version of cdma ws. You SHOULDN'T have to do this but alternatively you can use QPST just download the official new release (downloads at like 15-20kb's because their bandwidth hates you) and connect your phone to it and edit it after reading your phones information. (this program is a little more complicated and uses a few extra utilities but it can get you what you need to do)
3. Your sdk isn't required at least not from my experience. You just need to make a folder in your computer C: directory that is labeled Android/tools/ and place the files accordingly, I think it is autostart.sh within the C: and u2nl in the tools folder.
4.I can't exactly answer this one but if youg et your phone activated it should automatically let you update itself but you need to go to corolada.com/prl and download one from your provider (im sure somewhere in the forums has recommended preferred roaming lists for this to work) and install it with the QPST program and/or cdma workshop 2.7
NOTE assuming you need to add a password you can use QPST to do this as well

@omgar

Alternatively to that app if you dial *#*#info#*#* you can go into phone information and choose what signal type you want to use, like cdma only will prevent 3g/ev connections and force the 1x im not sure if any of them will allow you to call and not connect to the internet but their are a few choices.

@Wolfman0405
So, im not sure but based on the statement you flashed it and haven't done any of the last part of the solution??
The flashing is the easy part, everything after that is why their are 400+ posts on this forum and many more on its sister forums on xda and others.

1: *228 will not work. Ever. For your text, just call cricket to refresh your account, or PM me your number and I can do it.

2: Use qPST. Edit the pppconfig tab. Change the um and an tabs.

3: There is a great youtube video posted a few pages back showing how to use root explorer to place the file on the phone

4: Use prl 6399.

@ryuaced yes, for alltel you will need a different ip address in autostart.sh. ping your alltel address(i dont know what it is off the top of my head). the ip address you get needs to replace the existing address in autostart.sh.

Well I was close with some of those solutions.
@Syztym
Okay, so do i ping alltel ip address by using the *#*#info#*#* and ping it from there
the "GSM Disconnects" shows 75.116.235.6
if that is it than what would the port be that I would use??
or how do i ping alltel if that isn't it.

Thank you by the way
