No need to get personal, constructive criticism is what makes things better. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate it, it means that I see potential in what is happening so I take the time to put in some input.


Anyways.. I'm still having trouble with the hold down "T" to boot in to the diag mode. Does my phone need to be rooted or something?

Also do I have to install the smoke glass rom? is that esential? because I want to use my 2.2 froyo with the wifi/overclock hack.

I've tried to google all of this but no luck :(
 
@chrom3titan Power your phone off. Hold T. Plug usb cable in. That will turn phone on. Keep holding t untill your past the motorola logo. The phone will boot as normal. Now use hw serial port to connect.
 
Oh so theres no special screen or anything? Thanks man I'm at work right now but I'm gonna do that as soon as i get home, much appreciated.

EDIT: just to be sure, the smoke glass ROM is essential or optional? Thanks!
 
You dont need any custom rom to program the phone with cdma ws. But for wap, you will at least need a kernel that supports ip tables, and iptables installed. Easiest way is Smoked Glass or another custom rom.
 
Correct me if im wrong but the guide is to keep the 3g settings on the phone right?
so if i know how to configure the settings to my carrier the phone should work with 3g and the good stuff

what is autostart (root) market? Can I use the file with astro explorer?

also where do i type in the MDN in CDMA WS? I only see MIN under the "Nam" tab

where it says:
Go to “EV-DO” tab and click read, you should see [email protected] if not then write

On this tab do not change to simple ip, you must leave it on Mobile IP + Simple IP.

I only have CMDA WS 2.7, and the 3.5 demo, what are my alternatives of doing that in CDMA WS 2.7?

I followed the tutorial and flashed my phone. But now I want to flash it back to VZW.

The thing is I didn't backup my NV items. Could anyone tell me where can I find the correct NV items for VZW? Thanks a lot.

Thanks again to everybody contributing to the great solution. I have been up for a month with no service issues. One thing I cannot get fixed though is the wifi tether...SG 6.0 and a Chevy lv kernel. I have reinstalled tether source code (google) and it connects to a pc but doesnt transfer any data or just a few kb. I am not on the HTML so only getting 160kpbs dl. Would that be an issue? Didnt work on the SG stock adam kernel either.
 
You have to be able to setup a proxy on whatever client machine you use. At least, that's the case in my experience. My iPod Touch has proxy settings and I'm able to tether wirelessly to it, though downloading videos like youtube won't work.
