Motorola Droid Full Solution Updated

It is in debugging mode, and i have the up to date motorola drivers. Are those the drivers i need? Sorry for being such a noob but what exactly is supposed to show up in the device manager? Thanks for the help.

Ok, so I've read through all 28 pages, and it seems I'm the only person having major probs with HWVSP. I'm using Win7, phone is rooted, Smoked Glass installed, Moto USB drivers installed, device manager shows moto usb network driver.. but.. VSP shows "no devices found". VSP3 says full win7 support, but is it possible it's an OS problem? Anyone have any ideas? If it's something ridiculously simple I apologize, but I never had this issue with the Q back in the day.

Did you boot the phone into Diag mode? (Holding T while it boots from an off state with usb plugged in)
Are you using a P3 Kernel?

What are your settings for HWVSP?
Virtual Serial Port tab
Port Name: any COM port will do as long as it doesn't interfere with an existing one.
IP Address: 192.168.16.2 (the last digit can be different, so double check with IPCONFIG /ALL in a cmd window, use one number higher than what the last digit is in the motorola usb ip4 address)
Port: 11008
Settings tab:
Make sure NVT Enabled is unchecked

Sometimes I miss a simple step, so gotta cover the basics to see if you might have missed something.

ok, obviously i do not have root. I have my little ninja, it says super user permissions, I'm running smoked glass, couldn't have installed it without root, correct? but from terminal emulator, when I type in whoami i get unknown uid 10042, so no root? Is that what's stopping vsp from discovering device? Thanks for any help.

Type in what?
You should be able to type in su hit enter and then it will return a # then you'll know if it's rooted.
Root has nothing to do with connecting to HWVSP.
Ok with HWVSP you don't search for devices.. ignore that first tab. You are only using the second tab called Virtual Serial Port.
From that tab you click Create COM and it will say Connecting... then Connected then from there you connect to QPST or Cdma Workshop like normal

I am running the CM 5.0.7.1 ROM. Though the ROM is good, The problem that ends up happening is that I cant access the market or maps through my 3G network on cricket. I believe that there is a proxy that connects to the internet and a different one that connects to the market or maps that is preventing me from internet access. Can someone help with this problem? I have done a lot of restores and has not led me anywhere.

Thanks!

It connects using the same proxy workaround for all three.
What kernel version are you running?

Verify with root explorer you have the following
1. Autostart root apk installed with su permissions
2. autostart.sh is in /data/opt/ directory with rwxr-xr-x permissions
3. iptables is in /system/bin/ directory with rwxr-xr-x permissions
4. u2nl is in /system/bin/ directory with rwxr-xr-x permissions

When I put in Ip add, and com, and port, the create com button is still faded, it's unselectable which is why i thought, along with first tab, that it wasn't discovering device

Hey everyone, so I flashed my Droid thanks to all of you guys. The only thing I've noticed is that whenever I exceed the text message limit it won't send. I know Crickets limit is 150 but usually it will just send it off as two different texts when it's 150+.

Now though, whenever I do send one that's 150+ it will send it, but the person will never receive it? Any ideas on how I could fix that?

yes, i've got the com connected now, instead of downloading the newest version from their website like a fool, i actually clicked the link and downloaded the file here... (shouldn't have tried to go new this time). com created, but lan status keeps giving me an error, cdma workshop connects, but phone fails to answer when i try to send spc, or read anything from phone. I'm about ready give up till next week when i get a day off. I think trying this at midnight after working 12 hours may be part of my problem.

I am having the same problem. I have rooted the phone with smoked glass, but I'm to the serial port part now. I am having the same issue with connecting it to CDMA. I think it has to do with putting it into the diagnostics mode because when I hold the T Down and power up it just powers up normally. What am I missing here?

When you power up your phone is diagnostic mode is does not looks any different. Try using different ports on HWVSP or trying plugging your usb cable into another usb port. This worked for me.
