i just got the updater the other day form my motorola droid 2. it updated from 2.2 froyo to 2.3 gingerbread. i hate the new update. it got rid of some good features in my opinion. is there anyway to downgrade it back to 2.2.2? thank you

look into RSD lite and SBF files.
didn't research this at all but this post sounds/looks like it has what you need

i did this for my Droid X so it should be the same way.
you have to place your phone into bootloader mode
connect to PC
run the SBF file to your phone through the RSD lite program.

this will wipe all your data/sms/accounts/apps/game saves...ect. so that is the only bad part.
then you are going to have to figure out how to stop the OTA from hitting your phone...which is usually solved by rooting your phone and editing some files or running a custom ROM.
