I own a Motorola 2210 DSL Modem with AT&T. The modem used to be on an older firmware, like 7.7, and I used to play Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 just fine because my NAT Type was Open/Moderate, but ever since I updated the firmware on the modem, to 7.8, my NAT Type has been Strict and I'm not sure about how to get it back to Open/Moderate so that I can actually play with my friends again because the controls are now WAY different from what they used to be. The old firmware had an option for a Private IP which wasn't for gaming and would only allow a Strict NAT and a Public IP which allowed online gaming with a Open/Moderate NAT. The new firmware doesn't have any of this but instead has Static NAT and IP Passthrough. I do not know if any of these things are what I need to activate to get back to a Open/Moderate NAT Type but I'll do what needs to be done to get there.

So the question is what do I need to do to get my NAT Type back to Open/Moderate?

P.S. I am using a router but there is nothing wrong with the settings there because it worked great with the old modem firmware. It's the modem that now has the problem.

Thank you,
Keith T.
