timing chain...........

remove the plugs. & the tappet covers..

turn the motor over slowly using the rear wheel & the bike in gear..

check the piston comes up to TDC when the valves are closed..

if not the chain may need replaced or the cam chain tensioners.. or both..

take off the line that feeds fuel into the car at the carb turn the bike on and crank if fuel comes out check for spark at the spark plug if no spark have the spark plug wires and coils tested then test the stator if equipped if those are good these tests will isolate the ignitors replace the spark ignitors as spark ignitors cannot be tested

My husbands motorcycle was running fine and then one day he went to drive it to work and it wouldn't start. The engine turns over, but it doesn't start. We have checked the following parts and are now clueless as to what it could be. We checked the spark plugs, battery, and then moved to the fuel system and checked the tap and filter, and the pump. All are working and/or clean. What else could it be? thanks!
