Ok, I am currently 16 years old and planning to get a motorcycle for my senior year, I have no road experience but am planning to work and save up, I am thinking of getting those new 2008 ninja 250's. Now how much will it be to start my own insurance policy? and how much might my insurance be per year or month? thanks...and will it cost more if I get a Katana 600...2004 model maybe?

OK first off buy a different bike! you are talking about getting a brand new bike that you will need full coverage on and is high to insure anyway. you won't be able to afford it!!! what you need is an older bike (not high performance) that you can place just liability on until you are no longer considered an inexperienced operator. second, YOU cannot hold an insurance policy in your name only as you are a minor. you will have to place it under your parents.

Holy cow...sell all your belongings now!! ;) Kidding...

If you are 16, a motorcycle is going to be a very, very, shiny, pretty penny. Depending on what state you are in, you might check with Dairyland Insurance. They have pretty good motorcycle rates. You could also check with Progressive.com for quotes.

Good luck!
