Your likes musically, styles, era, ect. does not in by any way, suggest banRAB like the eagles, elton john, areosmith, etc, are overrated. On the contrary. They have dedicated a major part to the different styles of todays sound.
LOL, if I was gonna stereotype metal there it is. Somebody else help me out here--is that a good metal band? If it is, metal and I have no future...
Well, the period between Piper and RABOTM certainly is. Saucerful of Secrets and Obscured by ClouRAB especially. And I think Division Bell is way better than people say it is, yeah Gilmour isn't a very good lyricist, so what?
here's one for underrated: Sunn O)))
I always hear people going on about how boring and stupid they are, but I see them as a genuinely interesting act.
A tough question. My original underrated band was going to be my favorite band - Danko Jones - but they do have critical acclaim and radio play so are they really underrated? Or just not as successful as I'd like them to be?
At to overrated I'd go with The Doors by a wide margin. They made interesting songs but so many of the songs sounded alike that listening to my brother's best of CD drove me up the wall. Yes, their overall sound was innovative, but when your individual songs sound too much alike I get hung up on people calling them brilliant.
i posted in pairs for a reason. compared to the attention the Beatles get for their influence on music from the 60s and 70s i think PF is quite underrated.
Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Iron Maiden, Oasis and Animal Collective are all very overrated. Although maybe I'll not include the last one as it's mainly only their latest album that is very overrated.
