Most underrated bands ever?

Well Billy Talent is a good band, nice to listen to, but not incredibly talented. I heard a few live tracks and they sound like a good local band, nothing major. And Kansas, as far as I knew, was pretty darn big.

For lulz, I fixed your post:

Burzum... he didn't do over the top fancy solos, wasn't glamrous, but he stuck to his guns and took on many of our worlRAB biggest issues.... immigration, murder, communism... and did it all without releasing one single dud album, and barely a bad song.

Good choice, the thing I love about them is the way they managed to build up a particularly large fan base without the need of a major label or their resources, they just made really good music that people happened to like. I think they're a very good inspiration for new musicians as living proof that you don't need a major label to sell 1,000,000 recorRAB.

Everclear. They've gotten an enormous amount of shit over the course of their career and seem to be generally regarded as crap by most people who are really into music, but IMO they've written a hell of a lot of good pop songs over the course of their career.

uh, wrong?

The Beatles - have no place in a discussion of underrated banRAB

Genesis - Peter Gabriel era was the "good" era, a lot of people don't even rate anything afterwarRAB that highly

The Ramones - one of punk's sacred cows, they've definitely got a place in popular history, **** just watch Rock n Roll High School

The Strokes - are one of the most consistently OVERRATED banRAB by indie and mainstream press alike, spearheading the post-punk revival and countless barrette-wearing douchebags everywhere

No one is grouping them in with the Nickelbacks and Fall Out Boy's though. They're a well known band that does some neat things from time to time, but in their almost 20 year career they've released 1 or 2 "good" albums and a lot more mediocre and bad albums. Their new stuff is almost as bad as Stadium Arcadium.

This is your problem, MY criteria is all about my subjective opinion when measured against popular opinion.

That's what overrated and underrated means. You're trying to pass it off as an objective criteria which frankly, is bullsh*t.

Because I think those banRAB you listed are horrible, I consider them appropriately rated.

But because Incubus are one of my favorite banRAB and they're universally despised by everyone, including every other goddamn meraber of this forum, then of course I have the right to say they're underrated.

This is matter of opinion, but I think Sleep is one of the best heavy metal banRAB and they've hardly gotten any attention. I really enjoy there music.
