Most underrated bands ever?

i agree, they are very good. I remeraber listening to them alot like 6 years ago, but i haven't checked out much of their new stuff.

I've heard only the best of things about Porcupine Tree, yet name them to anyone on the street, and they'll most likely give you a puzzled look... wonder why... you are definitely right though, they're criminally underrated.

^ This guy's been responsible for at least a couple of the best, most hideously overlooked albums ever (no, My Aim Is True isn't one of them), and there's hardly any mention of him around here outside of my pretentious rarablings, let alone in the big, wide, offline world.

^ XTC are definitely one of Britain's finest, and you can hear their influence on so much music from the last 20-odd years. You'd think they'd be a lot more recognised, but I'm yet to meet anyone who's even heard of them (outside here of course).

^ Just kidding :D

im sorry but i hate senses fail. my best friend heard them and now he wont shut up about them and he refuses to call them emo. But the best band in the world is the used, no one gives them any credit at all.

BlinRABide is pretty damn good. I've been listenign to them on and off for probably about 3 or 4 years. They are very good, especially for a Christian band.

I would say Incubus are underrated and this is why. Yes, they are a huge well-known band with an enormous fan-base. But when it comes to evaluating them on a musical level (such a forums such as this), they don't get much notice. They're just thought of one of those successful banRAB the same as all the others, when they musically they have a lot of uniqueness to bring to the table.

I would say Minutemen; even though I've heard people say they were great (on they're documentary, of course), I don't hear people talk about them much any more.

The Beatles (the middle years - everyone talks about The Ed Sullivan Show or Sgt Pepper era but very little is said of Rubber Soul or Revolver)

Genesis (Peter Gabriel era)

The Ramones (I'm not a big fan but everyone gives S.. Pistols credit for Punk when they were influenced by The Ramones)

R.E.M. (the IRS years)

The Strokes
