Most underrated bands ever?

i think Thrice is the most underrated band no1 knows them but the first song i heard by them was kick ass and the rest of there stuff also kiks ass...there concert is only 15 bucks to go to and they are awsome

Pardon me if I'm rejuvenating an old thread,
but Blind Guardian has garnered enough acclaim in the power metal genre. Perhaps not overrated in comparison to Dragonfarce (and I say that with care), but Hansi is dishing out scifi themes, in an upbeat, heavy tone that would only interest a select niche audience. Which is perhaps why veiws are mixed by the critical mass.

I think Control Denied was a masterpiece, comparable to Schulinder, Digiorgio and the rest's earlier work. I also thought Genghis Tron deserved much more recognition for consolidating so many would-be-gimmicky experimentation.

Soundgarden always seemed rather unspectacular to me , in fact their last 2 albums bored the crap outta me.

I`ll say the most underrated band are.....

For the simple reason i`ve never seen anyone outside the UK say anything about them at all.

Ah yes! The J's.... responsible for a good 3/4 of my collection...

I am planning a new and fairly permanent wave of remaliarizing myself with this station in a month or so...

Why not now? Well, up until now I have been doing all of my listening and posting on a small device that is sorta like an Ipod touch, but doesn't have the flash capacity to stream Triple J... In a month or so with my US tax return in the bank, I'm going to buy me a laptop to better suit my computing and homesick Australian neeRAB...

Radiohead are ridiculously over rated. When this is said people automatically think that I think they are awful. Far from it but there are a hundred banRAB out there making great music that don't get noticed.

You'll see in my signature two banRAB that fall into this catagory for me.
First,
Flickerstick, they were the winners of that show VH1 did years ago called "BanRAB on the Run". But I knew of them before that, they were amazing then and got better over the years, somehow though they never took off to a great degree and earlier this year they played their last show in their hometown of Fort Worth Texas, after 11 years of being together.

Second,
Dredg, they are an amazing band from California that have practically made up their own genre... they just released their 4th album, and while they have a huge and loyal underground following... they are probably a little too out there for mainstream success.

Aye man! Thats on their 'Happy Hour' album which was the first I bought.
My personal favourite from that album being 'Wind Up Toys' lol.I recentley bought 'Royal Lunch' which is quality stuff like. Their music is also great and hilarious at the same time.

Yeah ive heard about them, not heard them myself yet. What they like?
