Most Underrated and Overlooked Guitarists

Kim Mitchell is definitely that someone that is worth checking out. He is great. In particular his stuff with the much underrated band Max Webster.

They made about 7 recorRAB 1975-1980 and were one of the best banRAB around. Being Canadian and on the same label as Rush meant they were always playing in their shadow. Unfortunately they never made in big in the states and folded in the early eighties.

Kim went on to have more success as a solo artist with hits like "Go for a Soda" and "Patio Lanterns" but the really kickin' stuff was with Max Webster.

They kind of sound like Rush meets Frank Zappa if you have never heard them check them out.
 
i hardly see any mention of John Fogerty, he is an amazing guitar player.
along with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, hes got talent to him as well
 
Why, Zakk is a great guitarist. He played Voodoo Child with Slash at the Gibson 100th anniversary bash, and Slash kinda got played off the stage by Zakk.

Jeff Beck is very overlooked. He has such a unique style, very effects driven. He was in The Yardbirs with Paige and Clapton, but when they split up he didn't gather as much of a fan base as the other two. All three guitarists were born down the road from each other, and Beck said 'Their must've been something in the water around there.'
For good sounRAB listen to 'Cause with ended as lovers' and 'Where were you?' He also recorded a sound cover of the Paul Robeson oldie 'Ol' Man River.'
Stevie Wonder wrote the song 'Superstition' for Beck but went onto record it for himself. So Stevie wrote 'I ain't Superstitious' for Jeff instead.
