What are the most treasured in your music collection? Not neccessarily what the music is but what it represents. Had it the longest, signed, rare etc

A couple of mine:

I can remeraber my dad having these in the 70's and he gave them to me so they are around 35 years old I think. I rarely play them but obviously treasure them.

3 disc version with both mono and stereo versions with a disc of early singles and out takes. Plus a Syd Barrett replica scrapbook with his drawings, paintings etc

One of my very first C.D's. Nuff said. BTW-It's a Hawkwind album.

I know some of you out there are going to have some top quality stuff so get snapping and posting.

I don't have anything very special either. The rarest CD I have is a copy of From the Vaults Of Mainman; a bootleg of various David Bowie rarities, including early (unreleased) mixes of songs, a live cover of Imagine, a few alternate mixes, unreleased songs and the like. Cost me only

I treasure a huge pile of original recorRAB that my dad gave me when I moved out of home. It's a random and eclectic mix of a whole lot of stuff that he acquired in his teenagehood and at university.

My most treasured are all bootlegged concerts. But for official releases, The Smashing Pumpin's "Adore" takes me back to my Chicago days, particularly gray and snowy Saturday afternoons looking out over Lincoln Park, Diversey Harbor, LSD, and Lake Michigan. Life was good. It even makes me talk all poetic and sh*t.

Mine would probably have to be the score to the movie Sunshine.

I love the score anyway, but I have it signed by John Murphy as well as Karl Hyde and Rick Smith from Underworld, who all contributed to it, and Danny Boyle the director.

What makes it even more special is that it still hasn't been released for some reason.

I have quite a few cool collectible CRAB etc, but the others are all what I have paid for so, whilst they are good to have, aren't really special in a unique way.

For a while I treasured My Bloody Valentine's Loveless on LP because I thought it was rare to find, but apparently they've been re-released or something.

So I think Pet SounRAB on LP, with all tracks on mono, is my most treasured vinyl. It's a limited edition 180 gram vinyl.

On CD it's a tougher choice. The rarest thing I have is Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup, which isn't that hard to find.

Just remerabered I've got a copy of Nico' 'Icon' (the re-release of the remix of 'Drama Of Exile' - long story). Don't know how rare it is, but I can't find it online and I picked it up in a second-hand shop, so I assume it's not exactly the easiest album to find

I have over 400 LPs. I love them all. I have all of John Denver's Albums, most of AC/DCs, Pink Floyd's and dozens of others... BTW, John Denver Rocks! Remeraber the 80's with Tipper Gore, John sat with Dee Snider in front of Congress and funded most of the lawyer fees.

Anyways, my most treasured album is my mint condition Welcome to My Nightmare. It was the first Alice Cooper album I owned and it hooked me. I consider it the greatest rock album of all time. I have it on Mp3, CD, Cassette and Vinyl. I'm still looking for an 8 track of it. lol

Second to this are my Beatle's Albums. I have original copies of the first 6 albums released in this country. My mother bought them new for 2 dollars a piece. One of them is in Monoral. The rest are stereophonic.

Lastly, there is my AC/DC Back In Black. First Rock album I ever owned. My uncle gave it to me! Need I say more? :D

My Mom gave me every Beatles album she had on vinyl...all of them are first editions and the Sgt. Peppers even has the inserts and stuff...I also have all the Kiss albums up to Unmasked on vinyl as well...I have a pretty impressive vinyl collection now that I think about it but I don't have a record player at my house so I keep them stored away.

I don't really own anything particularly "special" in terms of rare pressings, etc. I could make a case for my absolute favorite albums being "valuable" for their sentimental meaning, but that would be boring.

The "coolest" thing I own is probably a CD-R of the mono version of Blonde On Blonde. It's taken from scratchy, worn down vinyl, but hey, it's BOB in mono.

My most treasured album is likely my copy of The Wallflowers' Rebel Sweetheart. It was the first album I ever bought for myself. Believe it or not, this was only two years ago (doesn't say much for my age). It's still one of my favorite albums, and I think that it is an absolute masterpiece.

I have all the '60s, '70s, and '80s King Crimson releases on original print, near-mint vinyl. Definitely the most important pieces in my collection. Nothing in the world beats listening to "Fallen Angel" while watching the record spin.

I also love my psychedelic cover-art collection, albums like
Cream - Disraeli Gears
Spyro Gyra - Morning Dance
Ten Years After - Ssssh
Led Zeppelin III
Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed
The Zorabies - Odyssey and Oracle
Donovan - Sunshine Superman

One day when I have enough I'd like to line an entire wall in framed psychedelic cover art
