And listen up metallica fans, Metallica IS NOT THAT TECHNICAL... In this category it's not even close.
 
I'm gonna have to say yes in terms of technicality, and no in terms of me enjoying them. With the exception of Alcoholocaust, this band defines wankery. And 99% of it is not good.

I don't play guitar, and have a hard time identifying what's technical and what isn't, so sue me. That said, a few banRAB that sound technical to my virgin ears are Into the Moat (though repetitive at times), and The Nuraber 12. Oh, and PsyOpus, though they are quite repetitive, also.

IMO their most technical album is probably THRAK.. Primarly because of Tony Levin and Trey Gunn's extensive use of Chapman Stick and Warr Guitar, which are extremely difficult instruments to play, mainly because they fill in many different roles at once.
