Most scary film

Apart from IT which scared the bejjeebers out of me as a child, I would have to say the film that gave me nightmares for years and I have never seen since (because I know it will have lost all the 'magic') Is Watcher in the WooRAB. I still, as an adult, found it difficult seeing the name Karen written down... and mirrors freaked me out for a long time.
Anyway, as an adult, I found the Ring, Grudge and They quite creepy. but nothing 'scares' me like things used to. Which is lucky really! ;)

Halloween: Resurrection.
(is that the one with the gameshow type thing and a girl gets impailed on a sharp metal spike?)
Also, this isn't the scariest film I've seen, far from it, but did anyone else find any of the "Scary Movie" films scary? :o

My OH bought the TV Movie for me (Salem's Lot), as I read the book in the summer, and was petrified, and he thought it would be 'funny' to see my reaction to the film. It was a lot better than I thought it would be, and it was oh so creepy! I thought it was brilliant and it scared me witless...had bad dreams that night! And although its not technically a horror film 'Deliverance' still freaks me out whenever I see it

That's bizarre, as I've only ever watched the Exorcist on TV; the time I saw the spider-crawl I'm sure I was watching it on the Sci-Fi channel, or one of these other random digi channels that occasionally shows decent films.

Not technically a horror film (?) but the film Ted Bundy is so graphic, realistic and shocking. My nerves were pretty much shredded by the end.

Saw 3 wasn't scary but it was disturbing and I did feel quite faint in one particular scene ;) But then again, I did watch it at the cinema so maybe it won't be as disturbing on TV.

Demon Seed! Remember watching it as a kid! When the man gets crushed in the cube/robot/whatever.

Watched it recently, no so scary now.

Otherwise; 'salems lot, Carrie, Shining and I did find Blair Witch quite scary

Older horrors are the best. Omens, Evil Dead, Exorcist, It, Halloween, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby were all ones that made me jump, creep me out or scare the hell out of me. Then again The Grudge was quite good too; made me jump a few times.

Japanese Ring and Ring 0
I agree with that poster about Bundy as well, that's pretty relentless!
another non-horror but scary one is 'Anguish' pretty rare find these days
Jaws
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Don Siegel version)
Miracle Mile (not horror but bleak!)
Mothman Prophecies
Jacobs Ladder
John Carpenters The Thing, Halloween 1 & 2, The Fog, & Prince of Darkness.
